The TSCC reference on The Big Bang Theory that you may have missed

I guess you know that Summer guest stars as herself in episode 2.17 'The Terminator Decoupling' of CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. But did you know that TBBT's actors made a reference to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in a season 1 episode?

In TBBT episode 1.10 'The Loobenfeld Decay', Sheldon and Leonard start arguing about Terminators. They are debating the rationale of Skynet's use of terminators; Sheldon poses the following riddle to Leonard (see at the beginning of the video below): "Assuming all the good Terminators were originally evil Terminators created by Skynet, but then reprogrammed by the future John Connor, why would Skynet, an artificial computer intelligence, bother to create a petite hot 17 year-old killer robot?", since AI's do not have teen fetishes. Obviously, he is referring to Summer's reprogrammed terminator Cameron from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles;

This nod to Cameron probably paved the way for Summer's guest appearance in the second season of The Big Bang Theory.

Thanks to our friend Wade Wyeth for the heads up!

You're welcome!
If you look at the dates, this episode of TBBT aired on March 24, 2008, while TSCC premiered on January 13, 2008. Which means the writers were fans of the Terminator franchise and its tv show long before they were thinking about having Summer Glau on the show.

Crazy really how we seem to miss all these little hints in the shows that grace our TV in life (well I know I always do). blink
