The Final Result of the 2014 Calendar

The Summer Glau Wiki 2014 calendar is now completed and is waiting to be printed and hooked on your wall.
We here at the Summer Glau Wiki see every day amazing work of art, there are just so many skilled artists amongst the Summer Glau fans. This is how we got the idea to create our own fan-art calendar, a project that brings our growing community closer together, now in its third edition.
The calendar will be printed and one copy will be sent to Summer Glau to express our admiration and gratitude for the many years worth of perfection and countless gifts she gave to us through her art.
The basic idea behind the 2014 edition was to have a standard design for the different months graphics and focus on Summer Glau's work. These objectives were achieved through the use of screencaps or production stills from movies or tv shows she played in, embedded in layer masks in Photoshop. Floral brushes were used on the front and back cover, as well as in the layer masks to reinforce that sense of unity and give a touch of originality.

Edit: the resolution of the front cover was not correct  but it has been fixed now. The margin between the text and the border of the page has also been increased.
Here are the instructions on printing the calendar using a printing-house:
1) Download the calendar directly as a pdf file with lossless compression of the images on A4 paper ( 8.27" × 11.69" ) or the zip file of the 14 calendar images at MediaFire. A pdf file is often requested by printing shops.
2) technical features :
Digital printing : laser color, 14 pages A4 format printed on matted coated paper 250g from PDF file. Finishing : metal binding + notch and calendar hook
If you connect to the website of a printing-house, you may not find the exact requested features; in this case see if the website offers the possibility to make a personalized order. They will return a mail with a personalized quote that you can accept and thus initiate the manufacture of the calendar.
We would recommend professional prints if possible. The manufacture of the calendar can be made by any printing-house around the corner (try near universities), all you have to do is provide the pdf file in a USB key.
You can also do the prints at home and have the binding done on a printing-house for very cheap. Try to match as much as possible the technical specifications we gave above; using regular paper for example would not give satisfying result.
If someone has additional question feel free to ask.
Thank you Summer Glau Wiki staff for making this calendar possible and thank you members and fellow fans for supporting our project, suggesting ideas and improvements. Special thanks to Jim, Richard and a few others for pushing us to tackle this year's calendar.

It may not be exactly what I had in mind when I started it and it may not have a professional look but this calendar is a testimony of the dedication of the fans.

And Summer Glau fans are very dedicated wink

i was just about to ask if that was me! wow this calendar looks so professional. not that the other two are any less professional. i think because it has a more standardized look. i'm gonna get it printed next weekend! so next year i'll have it up right from the start and not miss having it up in January.

I updated the PDF file (Edit: and the jpeg files) containing the images (fixed the resolution of the cover and increased the margin between the text and the border of the page).
Be sure to use the new file (same link).

ahh i'm glad i checked this just now. going to download it right now!
are the jpgs updated too?

i only just noticed this on the September page and i have only seen those episodes of Grey's Anatomy once but if you look closely on her badge it says Glau... interesting no?

  Message #13 | chrisdvanne_ | 29 Dec 2013, 10:41 GMT [Entry]

Yep, I updated the jpgs in the Gallery and the rar file containing the 14 jpg files.

I didn't update the backcover with the thumbnail views of the monthly graphics though. The changes are hardly visible at that size anyway.

About the name "Glau" on nurse Emily's badge. Fans noticed it at the time this production still was released but we weren't able to confirm if they used that name on the episodes that aired on ABC or if they updated that temporary badge with the name of Summer's character, namely Emily Kovach.
