Surprise Marriage Proposal During Summer Photo Op

This is love, Browncoats style: an unsuspecting Summer found herself caught up in a photo opportunity-turned-engagement opportunity at Comikaze Expo. On October 31, 2015 at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo in the middle of a photo op with Summer, a fan wearing a Jayne's hat - or should I say a Browncoat - got down on his knee and proposed with a ring to his girlfriend, dressed up as Kaylee Frye, under Summer's bewildered eyes. I don't know who is more surprised - the bride to be, or Summer Glau! So frigging adorable!! When I first met my soon to be girlfriend one of the initial things we bonded over was our love for all things Whedon. Especially Firefly...
So I thought it'd be fun to propose in a memorable way... Needless to say both her and Summer were stunned.
She said yes!
Boy, that would have been embarrassing if she didn't! Ha!
We can definitely expect some little Browncoats in our future. Big thanks to Ms. Summer Glau for being cool with everything!
When the staff asked what pose we wanted to do I said "I have an idea!" reached into my pocket, pulled out a ring and dropped to one knee. Fortunately the photographer was on point and started snapping away! They were really cool, gave us 7 different pose prints when we were only expecting (and paid for) one and sent over all of the digital copies free of charge. That was really above and beyond. Truly a great company to do that for us! Congratulations! May Jayne and Kaylee be very happy and have lots of shiny adventures together!

![]() That's really nice, amusing and touching. This has cheered me up this morning. I've not slept for weeks since being on anti-rejection pills and early morning hospital visits. Interestingly, when I first saw Firefly many years after it was made, I was quite surprised and amused by some of the dialogues. Quite cutting edge of Joss Whedon. I watched repeats of the entire 1st season of TSCC and part of the 2nd season of TSCC on my laptop whilst I was in hospital. It was great to be able to do that, as well as reading @JeffreyPearces new book, Wraiths of the North. I can honestly recommend it, he is very well educated and a master of words. His story was very good. (I hope you guys know who he is? The clue is ZAP).

![]() Glad you liked the story and pics ![]() That name you mentioned - Jeffrey Pierce - sounds familiar. Indeed, Pierce played a T-888 Terminator disguised as a water delivery man in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles S02Ep21 "Adam Raised a Cain". ![]()
