Bad news for all Canadian fans of Summer Glau. Montreal Comiccon's organizers informed us that Summer won't join Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) on September 2013.
I guess you remember that Summer Glau was scheduled to attend Ottawa Comiccon on May 2013 but had to cancel because she lost her passport. However she said in a heartfelt apology video (see cap on the left) that the convention organisers had invited her to their Montreal Comiccon. Unfortunately, Montreal Comiccon's organizers told us that, in their own words (translated from French), "logistically, it didn't work."
It's not clear why Summer will not be able to attend the convention and since she was never officially announced as a guest at Ottawa ComicCon, the organizers have no reason to communicate about it. Of course, we can understand the disappointment of Canadian (and beyond) fans who expected to see her.
Hopefully, it could also mean that Summer Glau will be working on a project at the same time as the convention.
On the same topic, we learned recently that Lena Headey, who was on Montreal Comiccon's guest list, had to cancel her appearance in September due to professional reasons.
Don't forget that Summer Glau's next appearance at a convention will be at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con on August 2013.

There's no refund. I experienced it when Summer cancelled her coming at Starfury T3 in London on 2011.
"Guests appear subject to work commitments"; that's what happened with Lena Headey at Montreal Comiccon.
But in this case, Summer WAS NOT in the guest list (whereas Lena was); technically, she didn't cancelled anything.

Without knowing any facts any assumption could be made. (Chains, padlocks, keys, bed, Val - or perhaps family member is not well). It's even possible that actors/actresses already there don't want their limelight stolen and don't want her there. Wouldn't that be a funny thing?!

The explanation that the Montreal Comiccon organizers gave me - "logistical issues"- sound more like a passport issue than a work commitment indeed.
Could it be that Summer did not get her new passport before the con "closed" their guest list? I don't know and we will probably never have the answer to that question.

Probably not, but I know for sure sometimes replacing a passport is a problem and takes much time. Especially with tight security rules and biometric passports.
Logistical issues could also have something to do with actual logistics in a convention like this, but cannot imagine something like that preventing Mrs. Glau's presence so the passport thing seems most probable.
