Summer and the Full Firefly Cast To Appear In 'Con Man'

Summer is coming on board! Alan Tudyk has revealed that the entire Firefly cast is set to appear in 'Con Man', a new comedy web series he created and will star in alongside fellow Browncoat Nathan Fillion. We already knew Sean Maher and Gina Torres would be part of the first season of Con Man and now Alan said in a recent Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) he would eventually like to see all of the other main Firefly cast members (Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, Jewel Staite and Ron Glass) return to the show, though many of their roles have yet to be decided.

Everybody has committed to being in Con Man.
I don't want to waste their cameos. So, I'm hoping for a second season to put them all in. Right now, it's just Sean and Gina in the first season. Possibly more. The others will be Where's Waldo? type cameos.

Summer Glau To Guest Star In 'Con Man' Web Series

For the record, Firefly alums Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have launched a campaign on Indiegogo in order to raise money for a new web series titled 'Con Man', about actors from a sci-fi show which was canceled too soon (sound familiar?).

Here’s a refresher on what Con Man is all about:

It’s about the convention world,” says Tudyk, who is also the show’s creator, writer, and director. “My character, Wray Nerely, was on a science fiction show called Spectrum, that was canceled too soon, and now he goes to conventions, to sign head shots, and meet fans, and do panels. Nathan’s character, Jack Moore, who was the captain of the spaceship on Spectrum, has gone on to incredible action-hero stardom, like Matt Damon. My character is frustrated with his situation and frustrated by Jack’s stardom. We follow Wray’s story as he goes to the conventions and does video game voiceovers and we are going to populate it with sci-fi actors and people that you will find at conventions. Zany hi-jinks ensue!

The campaign has already raised over $2.8 million (closing date: April 10, 2015), going toward the making of the 12 episodes of the first season, and will also award contributors based on their contribution with prizes like photos, posters, T-shirts and more. As thank you to their fans, Alan and Nathan unveiled a teaser for Con Man. I think you’ll agree that this is money well spent.

Con Man will be available on Vimeo On Demand somewhere in Summer September 2015. We’ll let you know when we have more information on Summer's role/cameo.

Alan Tudyk also said he wants "to give them [the guests stars] roles that they wouldn't normally get a chance to play."
I wonder what he has in mind for Summer...
