Yes, Nathan Fillion said it exactly as how I saw it. In that series they would say things that were very close to the mark and quite shocking compared with general run-of-the-mill TV series. Inara's role for instance was a little more in-your-face, so much so that it emotionally affected Nathan Fillion's character.

Throughout the series, River suffered mental problems, for which none of the staff understood.

We know how society looks upon people like that. They try to avoid them and call them wackos.

Her brother understood she had a problem but had no idea (as far as I know) what she would eventually be.

For anyone that wonders whether I liked the series, I have it and Serenity recorded on my SKY HDD box.

We know Summer was a great draw for that show but I actually liked all of them for different reasons.

If only Summer was not the only female in those conversations - I bet she would have had a few more things to say with female backup.

Their absence does make me wonder why, as there were 3 other main characters. Perhaps their view is that once done, it is dusted.
It didn't stop most of the guys turning up, which makes me wonder if they talk too much haha (I always thought woman talked too much but in the acting world the opposite might be the case? Or are they all gay? LOL)

You're a true fan, Kevin smile

I wonder if Nathan Fillion was the only one speaking at the roundtable or is it just that they cut some of his numerous speeches in order to keep the rare times the other guests around the table started speaking.

Highly understandable about Summer being the only female there. I've been in a situation were I was the only male among 10 females, Does feel very strange. Again same with you, I noticed Firefly was on Sky, but only noticed when it was half way through. I record the rest of the episodes and watched them and that was about 3 months ago and I still got them saved my box. Sad to say that was the first time I'd seen them. So 10 Years to late but when they first aired I was only 8. smile
