Summer Glau is in 11th place in SciFi Now's Top 15 Women who Changed Sci-Fi, for her role as River Tam in Joss Whedon's Firefly.

The UK sci-fi, fantasy and horror magazine celebrates in its issue #72, on stands on October 2012, the 15 female characters who have changed sci-fi and fantasy forever, paving the way for today's breed of strong, well-developed women on screen.

I think Science fiction has been blurred with fairytales, mythology, tales of old with a magical twist, folklore etc.
I'm glad they included Arya Stark though. It could have been the dragon lady from GoT.

I'm going have to agree with Kevin on this one. They included a lot of stuff that is more in the realm of fantasy that has no place in an article regarding sci-fi. That being said, I'm a little disappointed they didn't show both Linda Hamilton and Lena Headey for Sarah Connor. Linda established the character, but it was through Lena we got to see and learn all the nuances of the character that make up Sarah Connor. We really needed to see both actresses.

i must admit ye right, the1russter very disappointed that lena headey, wasnt at least combined with linda hamilton, as sarah connor on the list. ok linda hamilton was the original sarah connor in the films, but character wise TSCC. was made for tv. and we learned and saw a different side to sarah connor. so ye both should have been included on the list. smile
