Jeff 1000: New Project

Added by chrisdvanne on Jun 22, 2014 | 6 COMMENTS

Summer Glau is working on a new project involving David Arquette...and Terminator-like robot! An image featuring Summer and David on set popped up online, in which both of them are standing in front of a life-size robot presented in what appears to be an exposition or art gallery.
Take a look at this new image with Summer Glau and David Arquette, and the accompagnying hashtags:

UPDATE 3: Check out the trailer for Jeff 1000 and an interview with Summer.
UPDATE 1: Check out these other on set photos related to Summer's new project, which may well turn out to be a web series titled "jeff 1000" (could be a temporary code name though).

UPDATE 2: The menacing Terminator/Mega Mech robot standing behind Summer Glau isn't a robot at all. It's a cleverly designed suit (with a real man inside) that employs animatronics to give the illusion of a lurching heavy mech. It was presented at Comic Con 2013, check out the video below and watch another video inwhich the makers of this Wired Comic Con robot reveal the special effects secrets behind it in the forum.

Thanks to our member tomek for solving the mystery.
The person who posted the photo with Summer Glau apparently works for a company creating documentary and narrative films mixing dreams and reality, so the project Summer and David are currently working on could be a documentary on robots in movies and tv shows...or something completely different. Please note this is only speculation for now as there's no official announcement.
Of course, we will keep you up to date with any new information on this intriguing project.
Meanwhile, feel free to tell us what you think of this new project in the comment section below or in the dedicated forum thread.

Summer Glau is working in the new Terminator movie...That or I am carried away by hope. biggrin

Terminator is I guess because she played one, otherwise this robot does not look like any terminator model so far from what I've seen, but with the new Terminator movie you never tho. Although this looks to me more close to a japan style anime or why not Star Wars if you only judge by the head j/k. :P

I am rather curious why does it says "NO STEP" on his shoulders, hence this robot is too tall for anyone to be able to actually step on him while he's standing or even sitting. So that hints me that this might be a transforming type who could probably go into tank or car mode, doubt it has anything to do with The Transformers or atleast I hope so. ;P

Another thing that caught my attention is the pincers he has on it's 2nd pair of arms, reminds so much of the Aliens robot in some way. That franchise hasn't got a movie besides the AvP series in a bunch. And the whole thing looks a bit like a mech suit as well as a robot. Or a mix of both if that's even possible.

My guess is that it's a completely new project.

I too think it has nothing to do with the Terminator movies in the making, or the potential new Terminator TV show.

Best guess: Summer is starring as herself in a documentary on robots/special fx made for Comic Con.

As you can read in the second update, this robot is not a robot at all but simply a suit. This new project has in all likelyhood nothing to do with the Terminator movies/tv shows.
The "robot" has been presented at Comic Con 2013 and videos reveals the secrets behind it. Check out in the forum.

I thought about whether there is even a slight chance that she is cast for the TV series, but then again I think no and that robot is nothing like the Terminators so far or anything I've seen before that could be associated with already popular franchise at least in global terms.... they seem to be doing a scene in what appear to be some kind of a museum (I think) and probably David Arquette's character have a history with this robot/suit. Or at least is looking passionate about it, while Summer's char doesn't seem so interested in being there or the exposition it self. The guys in the background are drinking tea, pretending to be alcohol. biggrin

Maybe it's my imagination, but sorta this is what this looks to me as far as I can make of the pic.

Well seems I've gotten far with my "dry humping" and guessed correctly it is a mech suit. biggrin
