I have listed for you the references to Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles that have been made on Summer's episode of Castle "The G.D.S." and that you may have missed.
Since we learned that Summer would make a guest appearance on Castle 8.14 "The G.D.S." as private investigator Kendall Frost, fans were eager to see if Nathan - or Castle's writers - would slip allusions to Summer's previous works into this episode. And there have been a few...but they were not as clear as some of the nods to Firefly that have come up in other episodes of Castle, such as Nathan's "Space Cowboy" Halloween costume in Castle 2.06 "Vampire Weekend". Of course, just because Nathan and Summer are on screen together does not mean anything and everything they do is a reference to Firefly or TSCC. and you might feel some of these are a stretch.
And so, off we go. Find below the Firefly & TSCC references I catched (Please feel free to goose me on any that I've missed). Click through or scroll down for details, explanations and clips.
1. Summer dressed as an L.A. Police Officer
In Castle, Kendall first appears dressed up as a cop at the cemetery, which reminds us of Cameron posing as a police officer in TSCC 1.07 'The Demon Hand'.
2. We have met before
When Richard Castle is brought to a table of G.D.S. members, his first line to Kendall was "Hey, I know you!" and the nerd in me immediately thought, "Of course you do Captain Malcolm Reynolds, she was a passenger on your ship Serenity!".
3. Name-dropping terminated
At the hotel suite, Alexis says Zenith Studios ruined the Nikki Heat movie series, to which Richard Castle replied, "Not ruined...destroyed, terminated!". Of course, the use of the word "terminated" is a clear nod to Summer's role in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
4. Is that River Tam's axe?
At the director's house, an axe that looked similar to the one used by River in Serenity - although the design was different - could be seen seen next to the murder's weapon.
5. She is deadly
