These fans of all ages can finally say one of their biggest dreams have come true: meeting intergalactic sweetie/killing machine Summer Glau. I have collected together a couple funny and heartwarming stories from fans who met Summer at Wizard World Nashville last weekend. As you will see, Summer always tries to make every person feel special and takes time to get to know each fan. I hope you have fun reading these lovely tidbits.
More stories will be added as they come, so keep checking back!
Let's get the band back together! Blake and his wife Kristi had a great time meeting the Serenity crew.
We (with wife -- Kristi) had met Jewel a couple of years ago (also in Nashville) when she was expecting (see attached), so I guess we can only meet Firefly actresses when they are pregnant? Odd coincidence... but we were thrilled to meet all of them at the same time.
Chatting with Summer was a highlight. We spoke about kids (our oldest is looking at colleges), how she was perfect on the Big Bang Theory, and how Sarah Connor Chronicles just never seemed to get a fair chance. (What is that Lena Headey person up to these days? I hope she is working! ha ha) Sorry, some of Sean Maher's panel sarcasm has affected me.
The panel was great! Sean's aforementioned sarcasm, Jewel's funny quips, and Summer's humility (especially concerning playing two action hero killers so convincingly) was great fun and awesome for us fans. The panel ended so well it could have been scripted. Jewel said that Firefly had never really ended for the actors since they are together so often. And the moderator said Firefly had never really ended for us fans either. Incredible and oh so true!
Thanks for making time for us fans Summer and God bless with the new addition to your lovely family!
Bill, his wife and their little angel Harley got to meet the super sweet Summer. And although they have not met Summer's lil one in person, they had the pleasure to see Mila running around the convention.
This was my 5th time meeting summer. She Is always a joy to meet. She greets you with a smile and Is always friendly, She was especially excited to hold our 8 week old baby girl Harley Lynn. We have a Firefly fan in the upbringing :-)
Chris is a big fan of Summer and also a gentleman.
Before I left the convention yesterday, I had the humble pleasure meeting actress Summer Glau! She is beautiful and nice in every way! I love her cameo in an episode of "The Big Bang Theory!" That episode she was in ("The Terminator Decoupling") is one of my favorite Big Bang episodes of all-time! Too funny!
Very glad to hear her friends and family are safe from Hurricane Harvey! Mrs. Glau, pleasure!
Paul wears kilts just like the way he behaves...in style.
I will forever miss the amazing Ron Glass. Summer and Sean were both amazing enough to write a tribute for me where Ron's autograph should have been. Nothing but love for them.
I met Sean Maher and Summer Glau for the first time on Saturday and they were both very friendly. When I got Sean's autograph I asked him if he would also write a little something on Ron Glass' page in my graphic novel (I have a comic with each of their portraits in it that I wanted to have them all sign on their individual pages) i explained i wanted it to be like a memorial to Ron Glass since his page would never have his signature. He was very kind and agreed. I asked Summer and she told me that it was a very sweet idea and also wrote a little note in memory of Ron. I also asked Jewel Staite to sign Ron's page but she declined. I guess we all deal with loss differently.
Also, during the Firefly panel a fan said they were planning a firefly wedding, with the costumes and what not, and after they walked up the aisle they were going to announce the wedding canceled. As you can imagine, there was much laughter, some crying, and several shouts of "too soon" that accompanied this remark.
Over all i did have a wonderful time and cannot say enough good things about these amazing people.
You can see more photos of Summer posing with fans, signing autographs at her booth or at her panel in the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con 2017 gallery album.
