Now that the MCM Hannover Comic Con 2017 frenzy is behind us, it's time to share with you a couple inspiring stories and photos from fans who have met Summer in Hannover. More stories will be added in the following days. I hope you have fun reading these lovely tidbits.
We've been talking about this meeting for weeks with our friend Evelin and the big day has fully come up to expectations.
I met Summer for the first time in Hannover! I was at her booth waiting for the autographs when she came with Sean! She stood on the side together with her family and Sean for a few minutes and I said to my friends that she is pregnant! She was so good looking! And her daughter Milena is so cute! She was laughing and was looking around!
A few minutes later, I gave her my photo collage [see pic above] to get it signed and she looked at it and was so happy to see the old pics with Nathan! She said: "Ooooh that's so nice and so much memories!".
Later that day, when we were standing in line for the photo ops, her husband was sitting directly in front of us and was babysitting!
Tim, a film critic for Spätvorstellung – Das Kinomagazin, and huge TSCC fan, was so kind to share with us the story of his meeting with Summer.
I met Summer at her booth, where she signed a photo I brought with me. She was really nice and took lots of time with every fan. She wrote on the photo: “To Tim, come with me if you want to live”, since I’m a big fan of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”.
At the Firefly panel I got the chance to ask her a question. And she was really happy about my question and thanked me twice for it. I asked: “How important is it to you to portray strong female characters?” You will see the answer in the video on Sunday. After the panel I asked her if we could take a picture together. It was not a problem and she was really nice. It made my day! As you can see in the pictures, I was really happy to have this opportunity. The rest of the day was in a great Summer feeling!
Good to see fans like Jannik - and Summer - still care about Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
A great day comes to an end! It was a "home game" for me - I live only 60 km away.
First I got an autograph. I was wearing a T-shirt with the inscription "Bring back the Sarah Connor Chronicles". She smiled and said "I hope too"- Later I made a photoshoot with her. She was always very kind.
At the panel, Sean and Summer answered 1 hour any questions. When it was almost finished, a fan asked: what are her next projects? She did confirm she's pregnant.
Here's my photo with Summer. I hope, I'll see her again one day. Greetings from Germany!
In addition to Katie Cassidy, another US actress was among the top guests of the Con: Summer Glau from Firefly, Serenity, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles appeared together with her series brother Sean Maher. These actors were also available at the weekend for photo sessions, autographs and panels. During the one-hour Q&A panel, Maher's adoptive children and the Chinese knowledge of the two actors from Joss Whedon's Kultserie were discussed, a Chinese student clarified the different meanings of a word that Maher had interpreted as a friendly, rather neutral formulation According to the linguist "Darling". That would require many future therapy sessions with his offspring, joked the man who played Simon Tam in Firefly.
This was then the running gag of the panel. His co-star, Summer Glau, was reserved on stage, spoke in a low voice, revealing anecdotes from her time in Firefly, "she was immensely grateful" especially for this time, so she got to the point because that was her breakthrough as an actress. Both, Maher and her, would always take on roles when Joss Whedon calls; Maher reported spontaneously for Whedon, when Scarlett Jonannson needed a good actor to shoot for the CGI-Hulk. Much more was not done with this work, but "after all, I could kiss Scarlett and although I am a gay man, that was really great" Maher laughed. Glau said that in the future she would like to play more comedies and in a musical. Her current project, however, was to get a second child, laughing.
The audience asked about her appearance in The Big Bang Theory where she played herself and was stalked by the four nerds on a train ride. The performance came about because she was shooting on the set next door and was "lent" to the series, as in the old Hollywood times, as she remembered smiling. The live audience, the distinct other tense, the breaks (for the laughter) - all this was new to Glau. In addition, she had "a nervous laughing problem," she often laughs at the unsuitable place, she described, and therefore she ruined several takes of the episode. The team was very patient and helpful. Later, she met some of the TBBT actors by chance in California, feeling like she was the stalker of Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and colleagues.
The panel came to an end, young men with roses had already found their way into the entrance, just a demonstration of how great the veneration and love for the stars of the Con is. Interviews with Summer Glau and Katie Cassidy would of course have rounded off this report, but unfortunately there was no opportunity and as a courteous person the author of this text did not address either Mrs. Cassidy as she marched past him in the press area, nor the wife of Glau and baby and followers spontaneous questions or backstage photos. Generally the panels were very interesting, quasi the Blu-ray / DVD bonus material times live.
Summer sent a message to Jana's friend, who couldn't make it to Hannover Comic Con.
I met Summer for the first time in Hannover and I was so excited.
Meeting her was a dream come true, Summer is absolutely wonderful and kind-hearted.
I had the chance to talk to her a little bit. I asked Summer if she could tell my friend something nice because she couldn't come to see her!
So we recorded the most amazing message for my friend. She said that she is sorry that she couldn't attend and she is missing her.. she is sending her love where ever she is.
She wrote a quote from Firefly on my poster and asked what it means in German, so I explained it to her!
I hugged her and she waved me goodbye, I'm in heaven and still can't believe that it happened.
Holly surely did not expect Summer's answer to her question .
I met Summer Glau at Comic Con Hannover and when I asked her about what her next project is, she pointed to her belly and said that that was her focus right now, with a smile. She was very sweet and relaxed, and I thought she was so kind to take a moment to speak with me.
A quick shot with the Tams...and it's back to work for Tina.
That weird moment when you only have time to fly down the stairs to the photo shoot to get your own little memory and you actually have to be back up at press table already, so you have a complete tunnel vision and need like 10 seconds to realize, Simon Tam just complimented your necklace. Seriously, I was not even realizing, he was like talking and being nice to me, I mainly focused on running in there, smiling and running back out to where I was supposed to be. Guy probably thought I was a total weirdo for just answering “Oh… uh… ahm… right, oh, yeah, thank you”.
Also sh, yeah, they’re both amazing and sweet and if you see Summer on the pictures of the weekend and think … “… !??!!”, yep, you’re probably right. Thanks for a lovely weekend, guys, hope to work again with you soon!
You can see more photos of Summer posing with fans, signing autographs at her booth or at her panel in the MCM Hannover Comic Con 2017 gallery album.
