I'm still not convinced she's real. I think she's an android.. no one can be that perfect looking!!
With Summer Glau and Charisma Carpenter Holy crap, those two ladies are soooo freakin' pretty!!
I asked Summer if anyone has ever used that pick up line from Big Bang Theory: "Is it hot in here? It must be Summer!" She laughed and said thankfully people have only said it as a joke, not being serious.
Last year we were fortunate in having Nathan Fillion and Jewel Staite with us at Ottawa Comiccon and this year Summer Glau came for a visit. Summer was to have joined Nathan and Jewel here last year however a last minute circumstance unfortunately prevented that happening. But this year Summer made it and her visit was outstanding!
I was one of the many Browncoats this past weekend to have the opportunity to meet Summer and have candid photos taken with her … and she surpassed my expectations by miles. Summer is a lovely young woman who spends time to really connect with her fans. The lineups to meet Summer were long but well worth the wait, and while you waited in the line you got to talk to fellow Browncoats :-)
Summer was not doing the ‘official’ photo ops like most of the other celebrities at Ottawa Comiccon but instead opted to do candid photos at her autograph booth … and I think that was perfect. Summer was accompanied by her fiancé, a very nice gentleman, who was taking the candid photos on fans’ cameras and he and Summer seemed to be enjoying the whole thing thoroughly.
On Sunday I heard from a number of fellow con attendees that Summer had been doing 4 hour straight autograph/candid photo sessions with only a quick break to grab something to eat or make a bathroom stop. I was impressed even more. I have a feeling that Summer felt so bad about not making last year’s Ottawa Comiccon she was trying to make it up to the fans … and she certainly did that and more!!!
Thank you Summer for coming to visit us and all the very best wishes to you and your fiancé on your upcoming wedding in September!
Fan's report from Summer Glau's panel at Ottawa Comiccon, by Angela Hartwick
Summer confessed that as an actress she initially wanted to be Emma Thompson and credits Joss Whedon for the sci-fi/fantasy genre becoming her niche stating he was the first person to believe in her. Before Whedon cast her in an episode of Angel, Summer says her resume was “pretty much made up” and even when she would nail auditions, she would be told to return when she had more experience.
The guys from The Convention Junkies uploaded the video of Summer's panel from Ottawa ComicCon 2014.
Summer Glau from the hit TV shows Firefly and Arrow, discusses her experiences making the shows with a room full of fans at the 2014 Ottawa ComicCon. This video has been assembled from a few sources and is only audio for the last half, sorry we couldn't find any video for that portion.
