It's an Emmy Award statuette, depicting a winged woman holding an atom. An Emmy Award, or simply Emmy, recognizes excellence in the television industry, and corresponds to the Academy Award (for film), the Tony Award (for theatre), and the Grammy Award (for music).
Morena Baccarin was recently nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of 'Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series' for the role of Jessica Brody on Showtime's Homeland. The fans posing with the Firefly gang probably wanted to pay homage to Morena by bringing a fake Emmy statuette with the mention "Firefly" on it.
