Referring to post 48, is is possible for her to be more beautiful than she appears here? I loved what Whedon alluded to in the panel when he said that he had a flash of inspiration as to what each character was going to be. At that moment, he believed that there was some sort of cosmic signal (that could not be stopped) that went out to Summer and the others and magically, they all came to life as their characters.
And the words in the opening scene of Serenity - River is a creature of extraordinary grace - surely were never more true than they are on the day that this photo was taken. Damn she looks good! If you are going through Hell, keep going.

Summer did look very beautiful. I watch the entire panel video and I only wished Summer was speaking more. I know she is shy, but she need to have some one-liners planned (or something). Like when Sean yelled "Summerrrrrr", she should of had a comeback like,"Remember Simon, I can kill you with my brain". Something to get her into the banter that was going back and forth. I'm a big fan of Summer's; would like to see her shine more. She does great in panels with just her, but when she is with others they seem to overpower her, and the only two people that I wanted really hear from is Josh and Summer.

I think it is not (only) a question to be shy or not : imagine yourself, after 10 years of your first biggest role on TV, which was a very intensive experience... You see again almost all the people involved in the project everybody liked so much, which had been cancelled for commercial reasons...
It is a question of sensibility, a question of all the feelings which are coming back in memory, there are a lot of fans who express your support, there are other members ot the cast very touched, and even Joss Whedon, who usually likes to be funny, who has now a kind of aura in Hollywood with his blockbuster The Avengers, who is deeply touched, moved, etc...
in short : Tears, emotion, very deep feelings....
With all of that, that's understandable that Summer was a little voiceless, this moment must have been beautiful and hard in same time for her. And with or without "prepared quotes", that would have been the same, even if I understand what you mean. So much grace is beautiful and peaceful for the mind and the eyes.
Summer had a couple of funny moments. I like how after the intro, all the guys started leaving, and Summer just looked at them like, "Where are you guys going?! You can't leave me here by myself!"
Also, Joss saying how someone asked him once why he cast an asian actress to play Simon's sister, and Summer looked at him like, "What? I'm not Asian!" "My favorite thing about River is that she gets to be barefoot so much of the time. I don't like shoes very much." - Summer Glau
