As we've said many times in this forum, Hollywood is a small world. Summer Glau is in the tv/movie business for 12 years and has rub shoulders with most people in the profession.

Michael Irby and Summer Glau played together in several episodes of "The Unit" in 2006/2007 (though I could not say if they had scenes together). Irby also played Poker Face in episode 9 of The Cape 'Razer' (see screen capture below).

And of course Leven Rambin and Summer Glau played together in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The new series - an adaptation of the 1973 film written and directed by Michael Crichton - stars Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood.

HBO confirmed the series' pick-up on Twitter on Monday (November 17) with a math equation for fans to solve.

The story follows the happenings at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.

Together, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy penned the series' pilot script.

Hopkins will play the lead role of the amusement park owner while Wood will play an android.

Westworld will debut on HBO in 2015.

'The Following' Casts 'Almost Human' Star As New Big Bad

Meet The Following's "new face of evil."

Michael Ealy (Almost Human, The Good Wife) has been cast as as the new big bad in season three of the horror thriller. He'll play "a brilliant, chameleon-like killer who will push Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) to the brink." Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) was the show's main antagonist for the first two seasons, but the character was arrested in the season two finale.

The Following will re-join Fox's lineup next year, likely in January.

Gotham To Introduce Robin's Parents, Says Showrunner

Gotham is to introduce Robin's parents, according to showrunner Bruno Heller.

The Batman prequel series will add the sidekick's mother and father to the cast, despite Robin himself not yet being born at the time the series is set.

Speaking to EW, Heller said: "We're going to do a prenatal origin story for Robin down the line."

He added: "There's an episode coming up where we learn how Robin's parents got together."

Actor Nicholas D'Agosto recently said that Harvey Dent will become a regular on Gotham if the series is given a second season by Fox.

D'Agosto made his debut on the show on Monday (November 17) as the alter-ego of district attorney-turned-crime boss Two-Face.

It was also announced earlier this month that Gotham will explore the origins of DC Comics villain Scarecrow.

NBC Halts Production On "Constantine"

NBC has called a halt on production of its DC Comics inspired supernatural drama series "Constantine". The network informed the cast and crew on Friday that the series will stop production once they complete the network's initial thirteen-episode order.

The network made a similar decision with its other new shows "Bad Judge" and "A to Z" in both those cases the shows have been axed. However with "Constantine" the show is still in contention for a second-season renewal and will remain in its 10pm Friday time slot for the rest of its run.

A decision had to be made about whether to order the 'Back 9,' but due to the show's late launch a proper decision could not be made as not enough ratings information has come in. As a result, they've called off production and are awaiting further airings and results as to whether the show will get a second season.

The series has not been a clear hit even in its Friday night time slot, but it has seen big DVR lifts and the fifth episode recently pulled in a 1.1 rating which is the show's highest mark since the series debut. Networks usually wait until the ratings of at least seven episodes are in before a decision is made.

It's presently unclear what could take over the timeslot once filiming wraps. "Hannibal" is expected to return to it next year, but it only began production on its third season a month ago so it probably won't be ready to air until March/April next year.

William Shatner's Character Will Change SyFy's Haven Forever

William Shatner is coming to Haven. The sci-fi legend revealed that he would appear on the series, but details surrounding his role were being kept under wraps. Now, thanks to TVLine, we know what Shatner has up his sleeve.

The site reports that Shatner will appear in four episodes of season five. His character is a bit of a mystery, but he's said to have "the potential to forever impact the fate of the town of Haven and its Troubled residents." Shatner's "seminal role" sounds like one to watch.

This character could do a lot of good, or bad, over the course of those four episodes. The Troubles already have their hands full leading up to the midseason finale (on Dec. 5). Some characters are being forced to make unlikely alliances, which could put everyone at odds. Maybe their latest conflict sets the stage for Shatner's arrival?

Aside from Star Trek, Shatner's TV resume includes The Twilight Zone, T.J. Hooker and Boston Legal.

Haven airs Fridays at 7 p.m. on SyFy

Sleepy Hollow Showrunner On Season 2 Criticism: "We Have A Plan"

Sleepy Hollow showrunner Mark Goffman has defended its second season from fan criticisms.

Goffman told Entertainment Weekly that he and his team appreciate "how passionate" fans are, but said the Fox series is "constantly evolving".

"Last season we were 13 episodes; this season we went to 18, "he explained. "So we're growing. We've done some things differently this year; we have new cast; we have tried some different storytelling.

"We take a lot of really big swings on this show. Some of those work really well - and we're adjusting and evolving as the season goes."

Some fans have objected to the apparent sidelining of Nicole Beharie's character Abbie Mills, but Goffman asked for viewers to "trust" the Sleepy Hollow writers.

"We're excited to tell a lot more stories about both Jenny [Mills, Abbie's sister] and Abbie," he said.

"We have a plan we put together, a really fun season arc, and --- things are going to be thrown into flux in a way that I think is really exciting - leading to a whole new trajectory for the back half of the season."
Sleepy Hollow airs on Mondays at 9/8c on Fox. In the UK, the series airs on Universal Channel.

Flash Scoop: The Voice of Gideon Is...Morena Baccarin!

Quote
Last night’s episode of The CW’s new DC Comics series “The Flash” introduced a new character of sorts with Gideon, the super computer used by Tom Cavanagh’s Dr. Harrison Wells. Today, TVLine has learned that the voice of Gideon was none other than fan-favorite actress Morena Baccarin!

Best known for appearing in “Firefly,” “V,” and “Homeland,” Baccarin has also lent her voice to a number of other DC projects in the past. She voiced Black Canary on the “Justice League” animated series, Cheetah on “Batman: The Brave and The Bold,” and Taliah al Ghul in this year’s direct-to-home-video animated feature Son of Batman. She’s also already set to appear next year as Dr. Leslie Thompkins on FOX’s “Gotham.” .

Claire Holt Is Up For CBS' "Supergirl"?

"The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" actress Claire Holt is reportedly one of several actresses reading for the title role in the "Supergirl" TV series at CBS.

For now, Holt is the only actress identified so far who is up for the role, and it isn't presently known how long the casting process has been under way. Executive producer Greg Berlanti and Colleen Atwood are currently deciding on the look of the title character's costume.

First announced in September and picked up to series by CBS a few weeks later, whomever is cast will play Kara Zor-El, a Krypton-born 24-year-old woman who has been hiding on Earth. Having refused to use her super powers, she eventually decides to embrace her abilities.

Holt will be next seen in NBC's event series "Aquarius".

# 1047  Apparently so. I was very surprised when she left 'The Originals' when she was cast as one of the main characters. She is a very posh talker or at least she was on 'The Originals' I'm not sure with her other show 'The Vampire Diaries'  I wonder if she knew or got approached while appearing on 'The Originals' Just seemed strange why she got phased out of the series with her being an Original!

'Preacher' TV Series Gets AMC Pilot Order

Preacher has taken another major step toward becoming a series. AMC has given a pilot order to the project based on the surreal, irreverent 1990s comic series created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon.

Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) will serve as executive producer and showrunner, while Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This is the End) will executive produce and direct the pilot, which is written by Catlin.

AMC's official description: "Based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's twisted '90s comic book series, Preacher is about Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find god."

"Preacher has been our favorite comic since it first came out, "Rogen and Goldberg said in a statement today. "Garth Ennis is one of our idols and it's an incredible honor to be working on this. We promise we won't make too many dick jokes and ruin it."

The pilot will be made in summer 2015, and could hit the air on AMC sometime in 2016.

TNT's 'Legends' Renewed For Second Season

Sean Bean Lives!

TNT has renewed their Sean Bean fronted action series Legends for a 10 episode second season, TVWise has learned.

Based on the novel by Robert Littell, Legends follows Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI's Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division who has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job. The drama series is produced by Fox 21 and stars Sean Bean, Ali Larter, Rob Mayes, Tina Majorino, Steve Harris, Amber Valletta and Lux Haney Jardine.

Across its 10 episode first season, Legends averaged an L7 audience of 3.2 million viewers, though TNT noted that once other platforms, such as set top VOD and digital on-demand, are factored in the average audience for the show jumps to 6.5 million viewers.

I watched about the first four episodes I got bored and kicked the show into touch.
