Ascension, otherwise known as the drama that Syfy is banking big time on bringing back their brand, has a slick new trailer. And what it's showing is a whole lotta spaceship—and we like that.

Here's the premise: 50 years ago, the world thought humanity might be over. So they sent out a special ship with all sorts of people in it with the hope that they would find a new Earth. However, Ascension the series takes place in the here and now. So it's been 50 years since the launch, and things are starting to fall apart between the upper and lower deck folks. Great premise, fingers crossed.

Ascension will premiere on December 15th.

Bradley Cooper To Produce Limitless TV Sequel

Bradley Cooper is working on a television sequel to Limitless.

Written by Craig Sweeny (Elementary, Medium), the pilot has been commissioned by CBS in the US. It will not feature Cooper in a starring role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper will executive produce the project alongside production company partner Todd Phillips, Sweeny, Heather Kadin, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and original film co-writer Leslie Dixon.

The series will be the first television project for Cooper and Phillip's company. Neil Burger, who directed the original movie, is slated to oversee the pilot.

The plot of the Limitless pilot is thought to continue on from the film's ending, following Brian Sinclair as he is persuaded to use the power of mind-enhancing drug NZT for good.

The big screen feature topped box office charts when it debuted in 2011, and has since made more than $160 million worldwide.

Limitless was a really good movie.

The Scarecrow Is Coming To "Gotham"

After introducing four of the future costume villains of Gotham City in the pilot, Fox's Batman prequel series "Gotham" has since kept things fairly tight.

A few more familiar names have come in - mobsters Carmine Falcone and Salvatore Maroni, serial killer Victor Zsasz, we'll soon get future Two-face Harvey Dent, and an episode with a future Mr. Freeze is coming. Well, now you can add another to the list - The Scarecrow.

Executive producer Danny Cannon revealed at Comikaze this weekend (Via Zap2It) that the writers are in the midst of working on an episode that will introduce the show's version of the master of fear himself Jonathan Crane. Much like their take on Poison Ivy, this version will be a young child:

"We're breaking the story now, the villain will be seen as a child, before he takes on the Scarecrow moniker. In fact, it's something that will be passed on to him from his father, which will create an eventual enemy for Batman while still having an adversary for Jim Gordon."

The Scarecrow has seen numerous screen portrayals over the years, from Cillian Murphy's live-action take as the secondary antagonist in "Batman Begins," to Henry Polic II's voice work in some of the best episodes of "Batman: The Animated Series".

Witches Of East End Cancelled By Lifetime

Witches of East End has been cancelled by Lifetime after two seasons.

The series was based on Melissa de la Cruz's book about young witches Freya and Ingrid Beauchamp (Jenna Dewan, Rachel Boston) coming to grips with their mystical powers.

Julia Ormond played their mother, while former Twin Peaks star Madchen Amick portrayed the girl's trouble-causing aunt.

The first season averaged 1.67 million viewers, but its second run fell to 1.13. Its season two finale, which aired on October 5th, only attracted 1.03m.

The series was developed by Maggie Friedman, who has had previous success writing on Dawson's Creek and Once and Again.

"Hell On Wheels" Gets A Final Season

AMC has renewed its western drama "Hell on Wheels" for a fifth and final season of fourteen episodes which, like the final seasons of the network's various other shows such as "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad," will be split in two.

The first seven episodes will air next summer with the final seven premiering in summer 2016. The show still has several more episodes of its current fourth season run to play out this month.

The show is averaging 3.4 million viewers in Live+3 ratings on Saturdays. Originally moved to Saturdays to be killed off, the show has proven a strong performer and ultimately led to AMC establishing a new evening of original programming.

AMC president Charlie Collier says: "With season five of Hell on Wheels, we are proud to bring our transcontinental journey to conclusion for the large, loyal audience that has traveled with Cullen Bohannon and his crew for so many years. We look forward to appropriately honoring Hell on Wheels in this final season. Enormous thanks to the terrific writers, cast and crew for all they have achieved and for all that lies ahead in the Wild West."

ABC's 'Forever' Gets Full Season Order

ABC's Forever may not be eternal, but the freshman drama is at least sticking around until the end of the season. Forever just received an order from the network for another nine episodes.

The drama stars loan Gruffudd as Dr. Henry Morgan, an immortal medical examiner. The pickup is a bit surprising considering the show's ratings - the most recent episode had a very low 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers in the next-day numbers. But Forever does benefit very strongly from DVR, with the season averaging 7.6 million viewers and a 1.9 rating, with a recent episode spiking 82 percent thanks to time-shifted playback.

While Forever's performance is considered below the line for a typical major network pickup, the line also declines every year. The decision should give hope to some similarly struggling shows - but not to fellow Tuesday night ABC freshman series Selfie. ABC has decided against ordering more episodes of the comedy, effectively canceling the series.

# 1029  Sounds like an Interesting show 'Forever' I'm a bit snowed under at the moment with one thing or another with what I'm currently watching show-wise. I might just wait for the full season to finish and then have a blast right through. Must be a decent show Chris!

By heck what a classy woman 'Alana De La Garza' looks in that cheeky little number she is wearing, she looks amazing. wink

Quaid Film "Frequency" Becomes A TV Series

Yet another film is aiming to be rebooted as a TV series for next fall. NBC is reportedly planning a small screen adaptation of the 2000 lo-fi time travel thriller "Frequency" which starred Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel.

"Supernatural" writer, producer and show runner Jeremy Carver has reportedly created a new take on the material and the network has issued a script-plus-penalty commitment for the character driven drama.

Carver will write the pilot episode which, like the original, will focus on a NYPD detective who connects with his son thirty years in the future. Father and son will work together to stop several tragic events from coming to pass, all while finding time to heal their own fractured relationship.

Toby Emmerich, who wrote the original film, will return as a producer on the series.

Definitively my TV crush at the moment.
Alana De La Garza's character on the show is wearing the same clothes as every female detective in every show, i.e. a jacket - preferably leather -, a shirt and a blouse. Nothing fancy.
The writers are probably waiting for the right opportunity to showcase her good looks.
