ABC Cancel"s "Once Upon A Time In Wonderland"

Alice"s adventure is coming to an end.

Less than 24 hours after cancelling fellow freshman Mind Games, ABC has officially cancelled the Once Upon A Time spin-off Once Upon A Time In Wonderland. The final episode of the 13 episode drama, which ABC is now billing as the "series finale", will air on Thursday April 3rd.

The cancellation of Once Upon A Time In Wonderland has not been unexpected. The spin-off was original envisioned as a way of bridging the gap between episodes of the parent series while it was on its winter hiatus before ABC topped Paul Lee changed direction and set a Fall launch. Once Upon A Time In Wonderland premiered to 5.8 million viewers and a 1.7 A18-49 rating, with the ratings falling dramatically over subsequent weeks with the most recent episode managing a mere 3.5 million viewers and a 0.8 A18-49 rating.
Shame but another show bites the dust unfortunately, its a tough industry.

Seems Slater has been in alot of shows of recent years that last 1 season.

As it is the case for Tricia Helfer in the recent years.
Christopher Gorham also went through a lot of cancellations (Odyssey 5, Jake 2.0, Out of Practice, Medical Investigation and Harper’s Island)...until came "Covert Affairs". Same thing happened to Nathan Fillion before he landed on "Castle".
The point is, give it time… Christian Slater, Tricia Helfer and hopefully Summer Glau or Laura Mennell are bound to find something that just clicks with the audience.

I hope so.

The Walking Dead Season 4 Finale Enjoys Record Ratings,

People really like The Walking Dead. In fact, a record breaking 15.7 million people tuned in to watch the season 4 finale of the hit zombie series on Sunday evening, with 1.01 million show-related tweets from 356,770 individual authors. AMC also continued its good run of form with companion aftershow Talking Dead earning a series record of 7.3 million viewers.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter has also revealed that Tara (Alanna Masterson), Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Gareth (Andrew J. West) are all returning with expanded roles in season five. Each of them have now been upped to series regulars and it will be interesting to see their roles develop into something with far more meat on them.

Gotham Casts Cory Michael Smith As The Riddler

Nope, Gotham is not done introducing new versions of classic DC characters just yet. Today, they"ve added Edward Nygma, the man who will one day become The Riddler. Broadway actor Cory Michael Smith will play him.

He"s a far cry from those villainous days, as Nygma, here, is described as:

A brilliant but socially awkward forensic scientist who"s eccentric and outgoing and desperate to be liked.

Smith will have a guest role in the pilot episode, with the option of becoming a series regular down the line.

Gotham follows a young Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as he tries to keep the city from ruin since Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is still but a wee lad and years away from becoming Batman.

SyFy appears now be catching on to other Networks with turning movies into TV series.
1st Dominion which is based off 2010 Dennis Quaid film "Legion" & now 12 Monkeys.

I hope they make a series based on the events after Battlestar Galactica...like set in post modern era where problems surrounding Cylons start to happen & from the ending of the 2003-2009 show they talked about if the events would happen again in the new earth, it would have a different outcome, storyline & actors.
Possibly with Summer Glau as a Cylon(sorda like a terminator).

With "Caprica"cancelled after one season and "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" not picked up as TV or web series, I'm not sure it will happen in a near future.

Both those were prequels that no one was interested in & a prequel to a sci-fi show doesnt seem like it would ever be successful especially since its not star-wars/star-trek plus people already know that caprica ends up nuked. I dont think I will ever watch the pilot to one of those galactica prequels.

A&E Renews " Bates Motel " For Season 3

A&E has renewed their breakout hit Bates Motel for a third season of 10 episodes. Production on the show"s third season is slated to commence this fall for a 2015 premiere.

"The incredible writing team and talented "Bates Motel" cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television," said David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E Network. "The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show."

The renewal for Bates Motel comes after the show"s second season debuted last month to 4.6 million total viewers and delivered 2.6 million adults 18-49 and 2.2 million adults 25-54, making it A&E"s number 1 drama series of all time among adults 18-49. It also stands in stark contrast to the fate of A&E"s fellow spring series Those Who Kill, which was effectively cancelled after two episodes and has been shifted to sister network LMN to burn off the remainder of its 10 episode order.

SyFy Greenlights Mythological Drama Series "Olympus"

SyFy has handed a 13 episode series order to Olympus, a mythological drama which promises to take viewers into the action-packed world of humans, Gods and monsters.

Olympus tells the story of how a few brave men and women banished the gods to the realm of the unconscious - a place they called the underworld or the Kingdom of Hades. The series will follow the protagonist on his journey as he gradually transforms from a fresh-faced and raw young man through the dramatic experiences of betrayal, love, disappointment, empowerment and exile, until he emerges a ruthless leader of men, and a match for the gods themselves.

"Olympus is a fantastic blend of action, intense thrills, creatures and great story telling. It will feature characters from mythology in a way never before imagined," said Chris Regina, Senior Vice President of Programming for SyFy. "It"s an excellent complement to our roster of programming and we can"t wait to share the adventures of Hero with the SyFy audience."

This is the latest scripted pick up that SyFy has made in recent weeks and months as the network has been going under something of a scripted resurgence, other recent moves in this are have includes last week"s series order for 12 Monkeys, a second season pick up for Helix, the green-light for event series Ascension and new drama Dominion - which premieres on Thursday June 19th at 9/8c.

SyFy Gets Into The Zombie Game With Z Nation

AMC has their zombie show, an adaptation of Robert Kirkman"s The Walking Dead, BBC has one of their own, In The Flesh, and damn it, SyFy wants one of their own. And what SyFy wants, SyFy gets, in this case in the form of their new zombie show Z Nation. You can see the obvious allusion to Max Brook"s World War Z in the title.

Karl Schaefer, who worked on the criminally underappreciated Eerie, Indiana, as well as Eureka and The Dead Zone, will serve as showrunner - let"s hope he has more of a lifespan in that capacity than his counterparts on The Walking Dead. He say"s "Z Nation will take viewers where no zombie has gone before," and that the show adds "a sense of hope to the horror of the apocalypse - our everyday heroes take the fight to the zombies. It"ll be an epic journey unlike anything you"ve seen before."

Chris Regina, the Senior Vice President of Programming adds, "Z Nation is a unique new journey into the long established zombie genre. Instead of existential despair, the series offers hope that somehow, some way, humanity will not only survive, but triumph. In producing their first ever weekly series, our long-time partners The Asylum have created a different way of telling an iconic story."
