I've been watching Revolution, which has David Lyons in it but I'm beginning to get fed up with it and fast forwarded to the end. There is a lot of Steven Seagul-type predictability, whereby the good guy never gets killed. There is lots of shooting, nasty beating up of people that seems horribly sadistic.
I think it is a shame that too many guns or swords are included in a TV series for entertainment.
I was discussing something else with someone on the http://www.sarahconnorfans.com/thread....et=7200
and he pointed out that a European view of America is not what it is really like.
I said to him that when I ask people here in the UK if they would like to live in America, they said "no, I would not want to live out there with all those guns".
IMO Criminal Minds seems to be more and more outrageously sadistic.
This is one of the reasons why I did not like to see Summer Glau portrayed the way she was in Hawaii Five-0 because that series is based on fighting kung fu, people with lots of guns etc. Surely Hawaii is not like that. If it is, what a terrible shame that the idylic Island has been built over with skyscrapers and all the prime land bought by Americans.
I think that in general, people like to see Summer in her romantic roles, such as John's hidden love for Cameron. There doesn't have to be sex. Many of the most successful series involved smoldering desire or pure ignorance to the fact, a bit like the series Arrow. Another good example was Moonlighting.

best cast character. tatiana maslany on `orphan black`call it the show where everything is so crazy, its just about as brilliant as it seems. orphan black is BBC americas first series, shot in ontario and from ginger snaps director john fawcett and grame manson `who wrote vincenzo natali`s cube`the series has cult-hit written all over it, but its tatiana maslany`s performance that has us swooning at the series, playing sarah, a woman who steals the identity of another woman who commits suicide. `the twist`they look exactly the same.  the story tatiana maslany portrays sarah. a working-class girl from the uk. who has nothing short of a life dealing with a sketchy past with strange people and simply looking for a brand new start. after witnessing a woman commit suicide on a train platform, her exact identical, she takes her identify and finds herself embroiled in the mystery of her identity and why there are all these other woman who look exactly like her. sounds a bit weird but then again, sounds very intriguing, and quite a challenge, and the vibes that are coming from this show sound quite promising, could be worth a look,

the season finale of bbc america`s ORPHAN BLACK airs this saturday, june 1, and it has already been renewed for a second season. thats great news if you live in the usa, but unfortunately in the uk its not so good news, well at the moment anyway, because it is not shown in the uk, for some strange reason, but nevermind the show seems to be a hit, after securing a second season,

CBS `upcoming event series` under the dome, adapted of course from the stephen king novel of the same name. under the dome looks like it will deliver an E.T. brand of sentimentality rather than showcasing a city in peril. could be because steven spielberg is one of the executive producers. could be they just want to attract `dog people`regardless under the dome has much more interesting things to tell us about, gleaned from show producers brian k. vaughan `lost` and neal baer `er`apparently, calling it a miniseries could be misleading, as they have already discussed with king ways to extend this show for many years, despite the fact that the novel only takes place over a week`s time. already, this first season has stretched the timeline, and each episode covers roughly a day in the characters`lives. and while a multi-year run is optimistic at best, the 13-episode season is a much easier way to adapt to such an extension. this will, of course, tamper with the way the novel ended, but a lot of people had a problem with that part anyway, so they could possibly top it, shoult it go into a second season, king has already expressed interest in writing an episode. while the first episode will lay all the violent dome-in-groundwork, the second episode promises equally impressive visuals, along with an explosion. ker-pow dome,  the series premieres on monday, june 24, 2013 on CBS, and will be available on amazon prime instant just four days later. from what i have seen this looks really interesting, and could be a show to look out for,

Laura Vandervoort, best known as Supergirl on Smallville and the Visitor Lisa on "V", portrays a werewolf in Canada's Space Channel's new series, Bitten, based on the Women of the Otherworld book series by Kelley Armstrong. The shooting has started in Toronto and Laura tweeted this picture from the set:

Today i realized that John Barrowman, who plays the main antagonist Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer in the Arrow tv series is the same who played in BBC science fiction drama Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood.

And now you hate me for being so ignorant sad

And that is not all. He had a program on TV where he makes people's dreams come true by singing in a series called all-Stars in front of a big TV audience. He sang on Stage in London's West End too.
He is a real pro.

5 geek tv shows you may have missed,  1, carnivale, true blood was not HBO`s first foray into fantasy, carnivale was and it was mind-blowingly good. hands down the best ever show that nobody watched.  2,  reaper, tonally, it often gets compared to chuck. so i cant confirm that. but i just cant see how a geek spy can be funnier than a slacker grim reaper.  3, the fades, you watched this, right, you must have watched this. dont tell me british tv puts out roughly one decent fantasy show a year and you managed to miss it, buy the dvd now, 4, pushing daisies, sometimes you just want to watch people being stabbed in the neck with zombie bones. but sometimes you want to watch a pie maker with the power of resurrection and his adorable romance with a girl he can never touch. 5, space above and beyond, as it was a great show that depressingly didnt make it past its first season,

I've just imdb'd Carnivale. I see it is a bit like the film Beetlejuice. I recognised the name Nick Stahl (JC in T3).
(Nick Stahl was in an ep of Body of Proof recently, so he gets around).
It appears that Carnivale had a lot of effort put in to it, make-up etc.

I don't know anything about Reaper but because I did not like Chuck, perhaps I wouldn't like Reaper anyway?

the Fades. I gave it a go but lost interest. Perhaps I never gave it a chance because it was on BBC.

I've seen Pushing Daisies - you reminded me about it - I had completely forgotten what it is about except that there was a dead person in it.

Space Above and Beyond - not heard of that either. There is so much coming out of the US these days. Is it just another same old, same old?

defiance rumored to kill off two key players before season one concludes. have you been watching scfy`s original drama defiance based on the ratings, it seems like many of you have. maybe you have been playing the online video game that accompanies the series. we know the show has been renewed for a second season, so they are not going to be too crazy, like killing off everyone or blowing up the planet, but as we approach the conclusion of the freshman season, some of the characters are not long for this world. a recent article over at tv line reports that, within the last few episodes of season one, fans will witness `the death of two characters who have been with us from the start` while defiance has a decent-sized cast, there is also talk of a `shocking secret`one that will change the landscape of the defiance world. all in all, it sounds like a promising conclusion to a first season. oh, and you will also get to `witness a castithian bachelor party` before the season wraps up, which promises to be a shindig to behold indeed.
