When TSCC was still on air, Summer Glau fans were trying to use the word "Glau" in every sentence, such as in "What are we caunting dauwn to nau?" or "Haurs Minutes Secondes" or "Glauwesome"
Hawaii Five-0 star Daniel Dae Kim has brought new life to the genre recently by tweeting about Summer's guest appearance on the show:
Daniel Dae Kim @danieldaekim
A great day on #H50 with the beautiful and talented Summer Glau, aka G-LAU.
The titles of H50's episodes are all in Hawaiian language, which happens to have many words finishing with "pau" or "lau"; i guess Daniel Dae Kim simply wanted to sound Hawaii-sh You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Youtube
For the first time ever, America can solve the crime and vote for the killer live. Three suspects, three endings, one killer choice. Your vote, your ending on a special episode of Hawaii Five-0 airing Monday, January 14th on CBS.
Hawaii Five-0 3x15 "Hookman" - Five-0 investigates when a mysterious man targets select police officers for revenge and McGarrett is the next on his hit list on the next episode of Hawaii Five-0 airing Monday, February 4th on CBS. Peter Weller guest stars and directs.
CBS published the press release for Hawaii Five-0 3.16 'Kekoa', guest starring Summer Glau, airing on CBS on February 11, 2013 at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT. Summer Glau will play Maggie Hoapili, the daughter of a Lua (Hawaiian hand-to-hand combat) master.
Short synopsis from the press release:
“Kekoa” – Five-0 investigates the murder of a Lua (ancient Hawaiian hand-to-hand combat) master, and McGarrett hires a private investigator to follow his mother, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Monday, Feb. 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Christine Lahti returns as Doris McGarrett. Treat Williams guest stars as a private investigator hired by McGarrett to follow his mother, and Summer Glau guest stars as the daughter of the Lua master who comes to Five-0 for help.
Ever since we knew Summer Glau would guest star in an episode of Hawaii Five-0 (see News), i keep seeing actors and fans making this hand sign when photographed behind the scenes, but I didn't know what it meant:
Stunt coordinator Jeff Cadiente (second from the right) on set with Summer Glau:
H50 actor Taylor Wiley (Kamekona) with a fan:
And now this last photo with Alex O'Loughlin gives an explanation (read the caption at the bottom):
Jason Koger, left, and Alex O’Loughlin, star of the new Hawaii Five-O series as Steve McGarrett, flash a shaka hand sign, a Hawaiian symbol for “hang loose” or “Aloha.” Koger’s bionic hands have movable fingers.
CBS has released the promotional photos for Summer Glau's episode Hawaii Five 3.16 Kekoa; no photo with Summer unfortunately. While Summer's character deals with the "case of the week", the photos focus on McGarrett's love life or mom issues (hence the private investigator played by guest star Treat Williams).
We don't know exactly the importance of Summer's role in this episode and how much screentime she gets but what matters is that she gets roles on mainstream shows on mainstream networks, such as her guest spot on Grey's Anatomy (and why shouldn't she get such roles btw?). Hawaii's Most Beautiful Man 2012 to guest star in Summer Glau's episode.
According to CBS press release, a certain Christopher Dipetre is guest starring in Hawaii Five-0 3.16 'Kekoa' alongside Summer Glau and Treat Williams.
While i can't be sure, there's a good chance it's the same man who won the 'Hawaii's Most Beautiful Man' contest last year; here's the video of the contest; love Christopher's Hawaian (i guess) dance steps (watch at at 5:29 of the video).
