Vibe To Make Waves On The CW"s "Flash"?
Quote
The CW"s Arrow has been building an impressive universe of DC Comics characters translated for the small screen. The tradition sounds like it will continue with the spinoff The Flash. According to Moviehole, The Flash"s alter ego Barry Allen will be joined by mechanical engineer Cisco Ramon, better known to DC fans as Vibe. A metahuman in the comics, Vibe has the ability to generate shock waves. Vibe put in stints with the Justice League in the old DC continuity as well as the New 52 one. Arrow viewers saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) gain his powers after the Central City particle accelerator malfunctioned, creating a freak lightning storm that hit the forensic scientist, sending him into a shelf of chemicals.  The Flash begins shooting in March in Vancouver.

The Breakout Stars Of 2013 " Robbie Amell - Stephen Jameson - The Tomorrow People "
Quote
The protagonist of this CW science-fiction drama, Amell plays teen Stephen Jameson who"s struggling to find his place in a world where genetically advanced humans (think X-Men but hotter) like himself are considered a threat. While trying to come to terms with his powers, Jameson is also working inside the biggest threat to the Tomorrow People, Ultra. Amell"s portrayal of Stephen emphasizes the young man"s deep-seeded insecurity from the lack of a father figure. Amell is following in his cousin Stephen"s footsteps who also battles evil as the elusive Arrow.

Who Would Have Made The Best Wonder Woman Over The Years ?
Quote
(CBR) When Warner Bros. announced in early December that Gal Gadot will become just the third actress to play Wonder Woman, a character created by William Moulton Marston in 1941, many wondered how the DC Comics heroine had been so criminally underrepresented outside of comic books. Along with Superman and Batman, Wonder Woman forms what in comics is known as DC"s Trinity, and is arguably the third most important - and powerful - character in their stable, yet Batman and Superman have starred in film and television projects since their inception. The 1940s saw movies serials for both heroes, and in the 50s Superman became a television staple. The 60s were Batman"s turn to rule the small screen, but by the 70s it was finally Wonder Woman"s time to shine with a much beloved, campy TV show that propelled the character into America"s pop culture consciousness. Since the series ended in 1979, DC and Warner Bros. have been trying to get a Wonder Woman television project off the ground with little success. "The Avengers" writer director Joss Whedon even tried his hand at spearheading a Wonder Woman film in the mid-2000s before ultimately walking away from the project. Veteran TV showrunner David E. Kelly had just a bit more success. writing and producing a "Wonder Woman" pilot starring, Adrianne Palicki, but NBC ultimately passed on the project.

TV Shows You Should Watch In Early 2014" HBO"s " True Detective " Is The Show Most Worth Watching
Quote
True Detective (HBO), premieres Jan 12,  The presence of Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan on Nic Pizzolatto"s Louisiana crime drama night make you expect fireworks from the start. You don"t get them. The slow burn makes it all the more satisfying when the show explodes, gloriously, in its genuinely scary third episode. Until then, sit back and drink it all in: McConaughey and Harrelson playing two very different, very damaged men, two decades apart, Monaghan making the most of what could have been a typical wife/girlfriend role, and a take on Louisiana that nails the state"s mix of beauty, mystery, and gothic horror. Every "Silence of the Lambs" ripoff claims to be a "Psychological horror story" but "True Detective" really is. McConaughey"s speech about the meaning of life near the end of the third episode may send you into a withering depression, but It"s also setting up the show"s most terrifying image.

The 10 Best New Television Characters Of 2013: - 1, Raymond "Red" Reddington, "The Blacklist"
Quote
James Spader"s turn as criminal mastermind turned FBI in formant Red Reddington wins the year, as far as new characters are concerned. Red is one for the ages, a cackling trickster with a soft side -- but It"s not a side you"re likely to see, unless you"re one of his oldest friends, or you"re on your death-bed. Soulful, mournful, filled with joy and rage in equal measure, Red ranks as one of television"s most complex and layered new characters, brought to brilliant life by Spader"s equally brilliant performance. And Marvel fans, if you"re not watching "Blacklist" on the regular, you"re missing a weekly opportunity to see why Joss Whedon picked Spader as Ultron. Get on that.

BBC Reviving Only Fools And Horses Though John Sullivan, Who Wrote Every Last Episode, Is Dead -- Updated
Quote
I don"t know if The Sun is still the UK"s best selling newspaper or even just the best selling tabloid, and I don"t know if they"ve gotten any better at getting their facts right in the last few years but I do know that tomorrow"s issue, which is starting to appear in some parts of London, runs with an exclusive claim that Only Fools And Horses is coming back to the BBC. The super-hit sitcom, the final "final" episode of which was screened in 2003, was created and written by John Sullivan. He passed away in 2011. I find it hard to imagine the show having the same character without him. There was an Interview with David Jason in The Times a couple of weeks back in which he said, quite openly, that John Sullivan"s sons had written a treatment for some more episodes Only Fools. Now, according to The Sun, the BBC have decided to go ahead with the project. What I don"t know, yet, is who will be actually scripting the episodes. If the BBC are looking for more of that Del-Boy-Falling-Through-The-Bar-Magic, they might want to go back to the source, UPDATE: The BBC have announced that Del Boy and Rodney will appear in a new sketch filmed for Sport Relief. Apparently: Further details will be announced in the build up to the appeal night on March 21. I dare say this will yield to more material if it"s well received.

25/Celebrities You Didn"t Realize Were Related By Marriage (Clark Gregg)

Quote
#25. I"m including this last one, not because of the in-law relationship, but because I didn"t know about the marital relationship (I admit, I may be the last person on Earth not to know). but, Clark Gregg is the son in law of Joel Grey, who is originated the role of the Master of Ceremonies in the Broadway production of Cabaret. What I didn"t realize, however, is that Gregg is married to Joel"s daughter, Jennifer Grey, of Ferris Bueller fame.

Marco Polo To Make Landing On Netflix / Netflix Announces New 2014 Series About The Adventures Of Marco Polo In 13th Century China
Quote
After the successes of House of Cards, Arrested Development, and Orange is the New Black, it was only a matter of time before Netflix got into the historical drama game. Enter Marco Polo, a new series targeting a late 2014 premiere that will follow the adventures and scheming politics of the great 13th century explorer. Created by Executive Producer John Fusco of Young Guns and Hidalgo, The Weinstein Company-produced series will run for nine episodes in its maiden voyage season and plans to shoot soon at Pinewood Studios, as well as in Malaysia with Kon-Tiki"s Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg also set to direct before sailing off into Disney"s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. A series that will follow Polo"s travels into a warring 13th century China, the series is described in the press release as featuring "a world replete with astonishing martial arts, sexual intrigue, political skullduggery and spectacular battles." In short, anchor"s away for Netflix subscribers.

Marvel Said To Deny The Johnny Depp Doctor Strange Rumor
Quote
Last night saw a new rumor hit suggesting that Johnny Depp is in talks with Marvel Studios for Doctor Strange. Now the rumor is refuted - by technically another rumor - as Variety says sources tell them no such talks have taken place. The reason cited is ironically the same reason Latino Review is said to have shot down another rumor about Josh Holloway for Batman Vs Superman, and that is a scheduling conflict. Variety says Johnny Depp has several films lined up with Disney including the next Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice In Wonderland. I suppose it"s possible Doctor Strange could be set after those, possibly 2016-8, as Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man Tales has a 2016 release.

Holy DVD Release, Batman! Complete 60s Batman TV Series To Get An Official Release
Quote
If you"re a fan of the 60s Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo, then you"ll no doubt be delighted to hear that the series is finally heading to DVD this year, at least according to Conan O"Brien, who has revealed the news on Twitter. Despite being one of the most popular shows in TV history, the Batman series has been unavailable on home video (yes, even VHS) due to complex rights issues between 20th Century Fox, ABC, Greenway Productions and DC"s parent company Warner Bros, while It"s also been suggested that some of the Bat-cameos weren"t cleared for home video release. Whatever the problems were, these now look to have been cleared, so Bat-Fans will soon be able to place the entire 120 episodes next to Batman: The Movie on their DVD shelves.

10 Female Superheroes Who Deserve Their Own Film / 10. Black Canary
Quote
Dinah Lance is one of the most established female heroes in the DC universe, serving on most of the publisher"s flagship teams at some point over the past six decades. The Black Canary is an expert in martial arts who fights crime with a "canary cry" or sonic scream that can destroy objects and knock people unconscious. Numerous incarnations have appeared on TV, most recently in Arrow, so I"d be surprised to see a solo Black Canary film anytime soon, but she"s a strong, sexy heroine who certainly has a lot of cinematic potential. DC has already begun talking about moving towards a Justice League movie and a Black Canary film would be a step in the right direction.

Quote
Should Be Played By: Kristen Bell: As private investigator Veronica Mars, Kristen Bell proved she has the chops to play a successful crime fighter and she certainly has the right look.

Quote
Following the Johnny Depp Rumor and subsequent denial, a new name has surfaced with it said Doctor Strange has been cast, and it"s Jon Hamm. According to the website This Is Infamous.com, Mad Men"s Jon Hamm has netted the role of Marvel"s Sorcerer Supreme. If true, that"s not a bad choice at all. Marvel looks to be developing Doctor Strange for its phase 3 movies. With rumors hitting the net mentioning actors for the role, maybe Doctor Strange will make an appearance in The Avengers 2.

Marvel Taps Writers For Agent Carter TV Series
Quote
It looks like Marvel"s rumoured Agent Carter small screen spin-off is moving closer towards becoming a reality, with Deadline revealing that Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas "have quietly boarded" the series with the Reaper duo also set to executive produce. Although Agent Carter is yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios, all signs point towards the project joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming Netflix miniseries Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Defenders, with Hayley Atwell expected to reprise her role from Captain America: The First Avenger and the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier - not to mention the Marvel One-Shot that accompanied the home-entertainment release of Iron Man 3. "Are you excited at the prospect of an Agent Carter series, or has Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. put you off?
