5 Worst Superhero Movies,  `Catwoman 2004` Catwoman was laughably bad. It received a 9 per-cent rating at Rotten Tomato and was listed as one of the worst films made across lists. The movie won 4 Razzies, which `Halle Berry`accepted in person, even acknowledging that she was cast in `In a piece of s###, god-awful movie`The only thing that made it possibly bearable was seeing Halle Berry in a seductive, cat-inspired Latex suit. maybe. `Fantastic Four 2005` This movie could have been great, Or at least decent. Despite a lot of hype, `Fantastic Four`fell victim to Its anticlimactic ending and dull characters. Jessica Alba, as Sue Storm, was nominated for a Worst Actress Razzie. Critics were underwhelmed, at best. Fantastic 4 Lacked the true spirit of the heroes, making it more lame than actually fantastic. `Daredevil 2003` This movie received mixed reviews from critics although the final verdict seemed to be a lukewarm consensus that the film was `Watchable`Overall, Daredevil seemed to fade quickly from memory and leave no lasting effect on viewers. Though less of a heavyweight superhero than Superman or Hulk, Daredevil could have been catapulted to greater heights. `Elektra 2005` With a solid 10 per-cent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Elektra was simply awful. Only Jennifer Gardner`s red bustier-corset hybrid was notable. The film`s corresponding video game was never released due to the publisher`s fear that it would undersell. They were certainly right. `Green Lantern 2011` The Green Lantern was entirely underwhelming, Flashy effects still render this movie average, at absolute best. Industry analysts also said it underperformed and needed to make at least twice what its worldwide total was to be considered even financially solid. Also, Ryan Reynold`s mask was silly.

`Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.` Showcases Bear McCreary In `The Composer Initiative` If you enjoyed last night`s premiere of Marvel`s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. a big part of the reason why might be the swelling score composed by veteran `Bear McCreary` already well-known to genre fans for his work on `Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles` and `The Walking Dead` In a new video titled `The Composer Initiative` McCreary takes fans behind the scenes on what it takes to bring the S.H.I.E.L.D. score to life. It`s no small feat, either. According to the composer, he`s conducting a full orchestra `Every Week` There are no corners cut here` he said. `This is as big of an orchestra as we`d have on a feature film, and we`re doing it every week, which makes it very special. It`s tremendous fun for me, because this is the kind of swashbuckling action-adventure scoring I grew up on`for McCreary, the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. score hinges on one key factor. Agent Phil Coulson, fresh from `Tahiti`and ready for business.

McCreary told the same thing when he had a full orchestraat his disposal to score 'The Cape'. More, when I listened to the `The Composer Initiative`music, I had sometimes the feeling I was listening to The Cape wink

Fox Has Until Fall 2014 To Film `The Fantastic Four` Before It Reverts. Well some new information has popped up. Many have wondered if Fox doesn`t get going on this reboot when will it revert back to Marvel Studio`s  A lot like Daredevil last fall --- now a user by the name Walt Disney on the Box Office Forums has revealed when the contract is up. `They need to begin filming a new Fantastic Four movie within 7 years after the last Fantastic Four movie was released. Meaning that they have until about early fall 2014 to start filming. Once they begin filming, there are other dates that they have to meet. They can`t just take 5 years to film the movie. However, the actual time that they have to release the film after filming begins remains a guarded secret by those in the know. Fox can change the release date. They aren`t locked into March 2015. However, what they must do is to begin filming within 7 years after the last FF film was released. Announcing release dates, changing release dates, Announcing directors, or anything similar will not stop the FF from reverting. The only thing that will stop the clock is for filming to begin by fall of 2014.  The Fantastic Four Its Schedule To Hit March 2015.

`Wonder Woman` Needs Female Screenwriter, Says Lynda Carter. Wonder Woman star `Lynda Carter` has suggested that studio executives should hire a female screenwriter to revive the character. The actress, who played the Amazonian on-screen between 1975 and 1979, believes that recent reboot attempts may have failed because the writers have failed to understand the heroine`s `sisterhood values` maybe they need a female writer who gets It. I`ve often tried not to say that, but I think It`s the truth. It`s like, `Hellooooo guys, get a female that understands what that`s all about` she told Entertainment Tonight. `You look at any society that suppresses woman, and It`s violent. Look around the world ---- there`s a humanity that they are missing. There`s got to be a sweetness, a kindness, a goodness in the character. The rest takes care of Itself. There have been several aborted attempts to bring Wonder Woman back to the small screen in recent years, Including The CW`s on-hold Amazon project. The character has not made a live action appearance on-screen since the cancellation of Carter`s show in 1979.  Those where the days what an icon Lynda Carter, sexy or what.

Disney Plans `Cruella De Vil` Spinoff. If this doesn`t scare you, nothing will. Disney is planning to make a live-action `Cruella De Vil` movie. Aline Brosh McKenna, writer of Disney and director Kenneth Branagh`s upcoming Cinderella, has been hired to recast the 101 Dalmatians antagonist in a feature film all her own. It`s Disney`s second attempt at turning one of Its classic villains into a new franchise player, following the in-production Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie. There`s no word on casting, but here`s an interesting wrinkle. `Glenn Close, who played the character in 1996`s 101 Dalmatians and Its sequel 102 Dalmatians, Is on board the film as an executive producer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. perhaps a reprise is in the mix.

Why Nerds And Geeks Should Honor Canada

Quote
Perhaps "honor" is the wrong word to use, or maybe I am acting the stereotype of a Canadian and being modest ahaha But, seriously though even as a Canuck Nerd, I find myself thanking my country for some of these people.
Some are iconic, some were part of things that "failed" box-office wise, none the less all these Canadians were/are part of Nerd history on the big and small screens.

Another Avatar Lawsuit Gets Thrown Out Of Court. If you are dying to bring a lawsuit against someone, it should be pure instinct not to want to sue one of the most imaginative men in Hollywood who holds the top two spots for most successful films of all time. He can probably afford a better legal team than you. Yet people just keep on trying to sue James Cameron over `Avatar` with a slew of lawsuits regularly being thrown at the director, claiming he ripped off everything from the storyline to the film`s visuals. Variety reports yet another one of those cases, however, has been shot down, as a California state judge has dismissed a suit filed by former Lightstorm Entertainment employee Eric Ryder. Sorry, Eric. Maybe put on a fake mustache and try again in a few months under a different name. Back in 2011, Ryder sued Cameron for stealing Ideas from his story K.R.Z. 2068, which was supposedly in development at Cameron`s Lightstorm back in 2002. The judge decided that Cameron`s film was created by him independently of Ryder`s creative input. But you can bet it won`t end here. Ryder`s attorney`s stated, `We respectfully disagree with the court`s ruling and we are considering our options for appeal` Cameron `Says Sadly it seems that whenever a successful motion picture picture is produced, there are people who to `get rich quick` by claiming their ideas were used, he said in a statement. `several such claims have been asserted with Avatar. I am grateful that our courts have consistently found these claims to be meritless. As I have previously stated, Avatar was my most personal film, drawing upon themes and concepts that I had been exploring for decades. The conspiracy theorist would say, `Yes, someone who stole an idea would say those things` Luckily, there are no such theorists in high courts. This ruling is similar to the one back in February, when Gerald Morawski claimed he presented the idea to Cameron back in 1991. It`s pretty awesome that in all of these cases, courts are just throwing the cases out, instead of Cameron offering to make a settlement to get it taken out of court quicker. Now we sit back and wait for the litigious cacophony that surrounds Avatar`s multiple sequels.

Hammer Acquire Film Rights To The Daylight Gate.  Horror specialist Hammer has announced that it has acquired the feature film rights to `The Daylight Gate` Jeanette Winterson`s  2012 novella from Randon House`s Arrow Books Hammer Imprint, which is based upon the 17th century Pendle Witch Trial, the most notorious of English witch-trials, and is a tale of magic, superstition, conscience and ruthless murder. `The Hammer imprint has really delivered some fantastic new writing and shows the vibrancy and variety of the modern day horror genre, `said Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President and CEO of Hammer Films. `I was interested to take the Hammer novella commission to write a good story around the notorious pendle witch trials of 1612, `stated Winterson, an award-winning writer, `Now I am intrigued and excited to see what new form these ghosts can inhabit. Stories from the past are always present, it is our imaginations that make it so.`

`Breaking Bad` Finale Did DreamWorks Offer 75 Million Dollars For More Episodes. We have heard some pretty insane responses and theories emerge from the `Breaking Bad` series finale, `Felina` but the latest would make even Walter White blush. Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg reportedly offered AMC the gargantuan sum of 75 million dollars, just short of Walter White`s life`s work, to commission three additional `Breaking Bad` episodes to take place after the finale. Katzenberg himself revealed the bizarre news to an audience of TV executives at the MIPCOM conference in cannes, adding that his vision for an additional 180 minutes of `Breaking Bad` would be doled out in 6-minute segments over a period of 30 days, with charging viewers between 50 and 99 cents for each installment. Naturally, however, Katzenberg abandoned the idea upon realizing that series creator Vince Gilligan and the writers had their own specific vision for how to end `Breaking Bad` over the course of its final eight episodes. Granted, both Gilligan and AMC might have been more receptive to the idea before season 5 began, for which contract re-negotiations saw the network ultimately deciding to air separate halves of eight episodes in 2012 and 2013, rather than reach a season 6. Ratings for the final eight episodes of `Breaking Bad` notably shattered its previous records, as well, the final episode bringing in a whopping 10.3 million viewers, up 442 percent from the season 4 finale, thanks to Netflix exposure and word of mouth. To its own end, AMC announced a `Better Call Saul` spinoff for `Breaking Bad` a Walking Dead companion series for 2015,

Pixar Canada Sadly Closes Down. Disney Pixar are responsible for some of the most acclaimed films of all time such as the `Toy Story` trilogy, `Finding Nemo` and `The Incredibles` It comes as very sad news then, that they have decided to close down their three year old studio in Canada to focus on their main studio situated in Emeryville, Southern California. The action has resulted in the loss of 100 jobs from the staff at the studio which is very sad news indeed. Whilst the central studio in California has worked on all of Pixar`s films to date as well as the upcoming `Toy Story Of Terror` Pixar Canada made the Toy Story shorts and Cars toons. Here is Pixar`s official statement explaining the decision. `As the dynamics of the animation industry continue to change rapidly, we continue to fine-tune our studio and its production processes. We have made the determination to refocus our creative and business efforts and resources under one roof. Pixar Canada will cease operations immediately`Whilst any way in which Pixar can improve on their practically flawless productions is always welcome, It`s not nice to hear that people have had to suffer to make that possible and we wish good luck on moving forward in their careers elsewhere.

Quentin Tarantino Explains His Love For `The Lone Ranger` Quentin Tarantino surprised many earlier this week when he released a list of his favorite movies of the year and on that list, along with Oscar frontrunners like `Gravity` and `Blue Jasmine` was the Razzie frontrunner `The Lone Ranger` As we all wondered aloud, `How could this be` Mr. Tarantino has arrived, as if on cue, to explain exactly how it be, defending his choice of `The Lone Ranger` as one of the best movies of 2013. Speaking to French Magazine Les Inrockuptibles `Via The Playlist, Tarantino was asked about his love for `The Lone Ranger` and didn`t back down. `The first forty-five minutes are excellent --- Then comes the train scene --- incredible When I saw it, I kept thinking, `What, that`s the film that everybody says is crap, Seriously, If only they had known sooner, Disney could have used `Excellent --- Quentin Tarantino` as one of their commercial pull quotes. So, it turns out that Quentin Tarantino really does love `The Lone Ranger` but that doesn`t mean he doesn`t have some issues with the film. He added, `I still have a little problem with the film. I like Tonto`s backstory --- but the slaughter of the tribe, by gunfire, from the cavalry, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. The Indians have really been victims of a genocide. So slaughtering them again in an entertaining movie, Buster Keaton style --- That ruined the fun a bit for me`
