What immediately strikes me is that while neither of them are in their ususal sci-fi eyecandy and/or celebrity over the top outfits Summer is still gorgeous while Tricia is not so much.

Maybe thats why Summer is the rich lady( you know wealth and beauty are often connected themes on TV)?

Also its my personal opinion only of course smile

Also Summer seems to use her original hair color in this series.

Summer Glau is so awesome, it isn't even funny!

Did she not in other shows?

Her hair is black here as in Serenity. However her hair is brown in most of her other shows and movies +in most of her interviews.

But I think that black is her original hair color.

Her hair looks brown in that picture to me. And her hair is brown in Serenity also -

She always has brown hair, why do you think this?

OK, its dark brown in Serenity( sometimes looks black through)

Serenity

But she uses lighter brown most of the time like in TSCC

TSCC stills

And I still think her true hair color is like this:

Fox Summer TCA After Party at Sky Bar

Which resembles more to her current hair color IMO

Tricia looks way older in that picture than she does in BSG.

She IS way older; BSG ran from 2004 to 2009 so that Tricia is 7 years older than when the serie started. When you're 30 your age doesn't show that much but when you're past 35 (Tricia is 37), you can see the signs of age of someone's face. This show is about K-9 K-9 Search and Rescue volunteers, you cannot expect to see Summer or Tricia with a lot of make-up.
Yet i have no doubt that the producers will have no difficulties to show Tricia as a beautiful woman, that she is anyway, if the scene requires it. If the pilot turn into a serie, i guess Eric Winter will be Tricia's love interest and we will have a "will they won't they" story arc throughout the show.

Scent of the Missing is primarily a drama and producers won't focus on eye-candy (i hope) like they did in Charlie's Angel remake.

Your comment is biased, i'm sure Tricia Helfer fans would think otherwise. And Summer's character Sedona was indeed describedd as rich and beautiful from the begining, so that her hairs, clothes and make-up will probably reflect that in the pilot. But if the script required the opposite, aka Tricia played the beautiful rich woman, i have no doubt Tricia would have been equally credible because make-up and lights do wonders on television.

Using an helicopter in a television show costs a lot of money; it gives an indication about the money invested on the pilot.

Exclusive news : Names changes on set of Scent of the Missing.

Tricia Helfer and book author Susannah Charleson were kind enough to give me the latest news on set of "Scent of the Missing".

Tricia Helfer's character, previously named Susannah in the pilot, is now called Ally and the dog paired with Eric Winter, who plays Jake, is now called "Smokey".

Quote
@trutriciahelfer
Tricia Helfer
@chrisdvanne Actually, it's now Tricia (Ally) & Jackson/Oggie/Langely (Rocket), @EricWinter1 (Jake) & Bolt/Louis (Smokey).

Even if the pilot is based on the book by Susannah Charleson and is the story of her life as a Search and Rescue team member paired with her dog, such changes are not rare; producers must have thought that the first name "Ally" would have more impact on tv than the longer name "Susannah".
It wouldn't surprise me if TNT decides to change the title some day.

No changes for Summer Glau's character Sedona or her dog, Chaos on the pilot, according to Susannah Charleson, who is on set since Sunday.

@chrisdvanne --Still Sedona & Chaos for Summer. They shot a great scene yesterday.

Susannah Charleson may be a nice person, i didn't want to sound too insistent by asking her what that great scene Summer and her dog filmed yesterday was.

I found a second picture of Summer Glau at set.

On set

Summer Glau with Blake Sanders and the dog Smokey.

Smokey is the name of the dog not to confuse with a character with the same name
