| Quote (michelangelo) As you can see, shows and actresses on the final list are very similar from one year to another. Because successfull shows last many years...obviously, and draw the attention of the critics. Hence the lack or room for surprises or challengers. Oscars are different because a movie is a one shot thing, it allows more diversity on the winners from one year to another.
So Summer has little chance to draw the attention of the voting committee with her short-lived character which was created for show of a not typically preferred genre.
Bye-bye my optimism
Summer Glau is so awesome, it isn't even funny! Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!

| I (almost) always base my opinion on facts. I see at least two others main reasons why Summer has little to no chance; those reasons are leaned upon the process of the votes and are a bit boring to explain but i won't tell them or you will never forgive me for ruining your enthousiasm.

| Summer Glau made it to the top 5 at THE 63rd PRIMETIME BIZARRO EMMYS in the "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" category.
I hesitated before reporting this article but i'll do it at the end, not without warning you though : the writer of this article did it for FUN, this is not to be taken seriously. You're free to rant on the comment section of the link (and i willt) but please do it with style.
But firstly what is it about? As i said previously, almost every actor is nominated on the real Emmys Awards, if one member of crew or cast take the time to do it.
Zap2it columnist writer says : Quote It doesn't matter if the show died a quick and painless death, if it was critically derided for much of its short run, it's so obscure no one has ever heard of it, or it's an established -- and sometimes quite good -- show whose chances of being nominated are about the same as seeing dinosaurs roaming the planet in our lifetimes. He has listed the top 5 of its Bizarro Emmys for each category (i reproduce the ones where cast of "The Cape" is listed):
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Ashley Benson, "Pretty Little Liars" Kate Del Castro, "La Reina Del Sur" Janeane Garafolo, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" Summer Glau, "The Cape" Sarah Shahi, "Fairly Legal"
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Jerry O'Connell, "The Defenders" Blair Underwood, "The Event" Martin Klebba, "The Cape" Romany Malco, "No Ordinary Family" Corey Stoll, "Law and Order: LA"
Outstanding Drama Series "The Cape" "The Event" "Fairly Legal" "Law & Order: LA" "Skins"
"The Event" beat "The Cape" with 4 nominations (not all reproduced here).
Of course this is stupid and completely arbitrary; these actors actresses or shows are not more bad than others, they just don't fill the criteria required to feature in the final list of the real Emmys.

| A few remarks about this year nominations for The Emmys Awards.
Inertia is strong among the members of the voting committee, but this is old news.
Three shows thrust most of the nominations : Mad Men (19 nominations), Boardwalk Empire (18 nominations), and Modern Family (17 nominations). Talk about diversity!
She's a good actress, but did Kathy Bates really deserve a nomination for her role in Harry's Law? I think voters were influenced by her former Oscar for her interpreation of a terrifying nurse in Stephen King's Misery (1990).
That's for the rant. And now some satisfactions.
Games of Thrones passed the scifi barrier over. Even if John Noble was not nominated for Fringe, Peter Dinklage got a nomination in the "Best supporting actor in a drama" category for Games of Thrones. There was a lot of buzz about that nominations and it was confirmed. Overall the show got 13 nominations, including one for Best Drama Series and one for "Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special" where The Cape is also nominated.
On a side note, the hype surrounding Peter Dinklage cannot harm "Knights of Badassdom".

| Tatiana Maslany Finally Received An Emmy Nomination For Orphan Black, And Everyone Is Thrilled
It's an Emmy nomination that fans have long wanted to see: Tatiana Maslany received a nod in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series category for her work as multiple characters on Orphan Black. The nomination is Maslany's first.
Following the nominations announcement, Maslany thanked fans on Twitter for their support.
"There's an idea that the acting is less important than the special affects [in those shows], but what's funny about our show is that the special effects and the acting are one and the same, "Maslany told Rolling Stone earlier this year when asked about her previous snubs. "They couldn't exist without each other. It's not like we're sending spaceships flying around - we're just putting two characters played by one person in a room together. To me, our show is more of a character drama with elements of comedy and horror than a sci-fi show."
The nomination is well deserved, after all the hard work and tireless hours she's put in?!How can one person be so amazing! I'd say the woman has talent coming out of her ears.
