Not convinced.

Still, it could do no harm.

I have changed the design of the Page with entry full text and its comments.
for example http://summer-glau.com/news....1-19-78

The widgets are needed because visitors from sites that posts links from our news feed just see that page.

maybe the widget on the home page should be designed in the same way (recent news widget might not be needed there)

That's a good thing; it was annoying writing a comment without seing the news itself or the previous comment.

The new homepage is much better imo.
There is no waiste of space and empty black area on top and on the left.

The homepage looks better on my 19' screen than on my 26' screen because the "recents news" and "forum updates" are too narrow on my big screen

The name of the author is not important on the "recent news" board. It could be removed in order to list more news.

On the contrary, this information is relevant on the "forum update" board because you can see if someone answered your last post. More, some people like to follow some posters in particular.

For me, the only main thing missing on the home page is a "wiki highlight" : an area containing one topic we want to highlight, something big.

That could be a new photo of trailer of uncoming episode, the announce of an upcoming event, a topic specific to this wiki.

It could be placed next to the cooliris widget; left or right i don't know.

I want symmetry between the left and right side therefore I'm using fixed width
I removed the author one can also safe space by shorten the title the downside is that you dont see the entire title

Arrgh, what have you done? It's even more narrow on my 26' screen ,the computer i use as we speak (see printscreen below).

Shorten the title makes you don't know what the new is about. Especially if we write in the title something like "The Cape" before giving the real news.

Try to reduce the font size of the date.

Edit : maybe try to keep the poster name without the front "Last Post:" mention. Another separation mark could be used.

I don't know why.
The overall design and features of the wiki is much better now; but you will have to increase the width of the "recent news" board to add margins, visible boundaries between News area and "recents news" area,...
More, with long username like mine, the date sometimes generate an unaesthetic line break (and display a lonely "am" or "pm")
At the same time, we should reduce the size of the pictures we use to illustrate a news, in order to leave enough room for the text.

Other point : you removed the link to the "recent post" but it doesn't matter as we can use a "forum udate" link to access the forum. Though it could be useful to add a link to "recent post" at the end of the thread page (for the time being i have to scroll to the top of the page and press "recent post" link to view another thread).
The link could be placed next to the page number for example.

Incoherence : there is 3 diferent names for the "recent posts"
1) "Forum Updates" on the homepage
2) "Recent Posts" on the clickable links menu (between "Inbox" and "Members")
3) "New Posts" on top of the thread list, on the left (next to "Forum")

Typo on "Forum Updates" : am/pm or AM/PM but not Am/PM

Warning : 2 images of Summer Glau performing aerial silk are heavily pixellised.

I think the recent news block is redundant. Isn't that's what we have on the entire page?

So who are "Free Electrons"? Why they are not mentioned here http://summer-glau.com/index/0-2 ? Why the icon actually shows bound electrons smile ?

I did not answer Fermi about that because i have no precise idea; one way it allows the reader to see more news headlines in one sight but the other way it's redundant (as you said) and take the place of the "wiki highlight" feature i wish.
It's up to Fermi.

My remarks about page settings applys both to the "Recent news" and the "Forum Update" blocks

Free Electrons obeys only to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle; the minute you try to locate them precisely, they speed up to another place biggrin

Typo by Ucoz one way to fix this is to change the time settings of the wiki to a 24 hour clock instead.
