Press release :

Why not add a banner to visually identify a press release about The Cape, even before reading the message?

Something like this for example (Click on image for full size) :

Weird!

The Forum Updates board seems to change the message authors'names :
1)

Quote
Suggestions, ideas, promotion and feedback
Message from: Fermi Friday,8:34 PM
whereas i wrote the last message and if i go to the thread directly, the hour is correct but not the name.

2) Same for

Quote
The Cape interviews and articles
Message from: Fermi Thursday,7:39 PM
Fermi is credited whereas i wrote the last message.

done

Still I think a banner would have been better; it underlines the press release without distracting the reader.
At least the proportions bewtween image and text block is correct. As an example, this proportion is awful for the "Gallery Update" news and not good for the "Summer Glau talks @ Winter TCA" news.

Edit : the Forum Update seems to be ok now

I added a small instruction how to use a feature I've just discovered that was not obvious to me.

Hi Charley and thanks for the photo widget!

When using a picture from another site on the news thread, is there a risk to have it deleted if hotlinking is not permitted?
having a deleted picture on the news thread would not be professional.

News thread is not special in any way. If the server that hosts image forbids hotlinking people usually will not be able to see that image no matter where you put it on this site. The reason why you may include that image in your news and see it is because it is in the cache of your browser: you already saw that image on their site. Then when you include it in your post your browser knows that you recently downloaded that image and it just shows it to you again. Then when you come back later (next day, probably) the image may be deleted from cache or expired and your browser tries to download it again and that's when you discover that hotlinking is forbidden on that site.

By "pages" we mean content pages that are accessible from the "MENU" list in the upper left. News and forum are not "pages".

Is there a way to exclude the test thread from the forum updates?
Knowing that Fermi is conducting a test doesn't bring much information to the readers and it takes the place of a valuable thread.

Edit a problem is that the widget display one less tread when the test tread being bumped. I need to think about how to solve that.
