Hi fellow members...

I'd have a question that is stuck in my head please excuse my ignorance so I just ask...

how do show-creators / producers / writers pick the music you hear in an episode...

and I don't mean created score like for TSCC and so...

no I mean from artists I never heard before until I heard them on TV...

A good example here is Continuum...it has tons of music in it and some of them I really like(f.e. 1x02.. Where The River Bends by Matthew Barber) but never heard from them prior the series

See here http://tvshowmusic.com/shows/continuum-music-season-1 & http://tvshowmusic.com/shows/continuum-music-season-2

so ask myself is there a sort of index where writers & creators browse trough and then say "this is a fitting one for this scene"?

I'm really curios about how this works...

i don't know maybe they get paid for specific music? or the producers might just happen to know music others haven't heard off and put it in.

knowledge is power.

then they have to know the artist in first place...

the song I mentioned above actually is from 2008 4 years Prior Continuum I'm aware that show planning might take a long time...

but most songs i discovered are not extra created for a show

i have a question that just keeps bothering me, but then i remembered this thread.
i'm watching TSSC (for the 4th time) and in SO1 EP03: the turk, you have this scene:

Sarah To Cameron]: Nobody dies until I say so. [To John] Tell her.
Cameron: People die all the time, they won’t wait for her. [An awkward silence]Cameron: I fooled you again.

my question is: what did cameron mean with i fooled you again?

My understanding is that she fooled him on the pilot, when she made him believe she was a normal girl.

What Chris says. In the pilot she convinced John that she is a human... In this scene Cameron made a joke in her way. This is why she fooled him again

i understood the one off the pilot but i didn't of episode 3, i guess the joke was her taking sarah too seriously?
