It seems Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles special effects make-up artist Robert Hall did a bit of (free?) advertising for a brand of make-up products, with the complicity of Summer Glau. See these photos featuring Robert Hall applying Pros-Aide adhesives to Summer in TSCC and taking good care to show the product's name.
Even a Terminator endoskeleton standing in Robert Hall's lab advertises the products of the brand
It is therefore not surprising that the brand uses one of these pictures for the cover of their Facebook page. You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Youtube
Joss Whedon's shows sometimes have "accidental" crew cameos. Here's one in Firefly Episode 4: Shindig at 12:45 of the episode.
There is a wide shot of the ballroom dancers and in the archway in the back of the room you see the director walk into view wearing a Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap with headphones down around his neck. Just as he raises his hands to speak to the dancers, they cut away.
The season 2 opener of Supergirl - in its new network The CW - was filled to references to Richard Donner's Superman movies from the seventies. To use Kara’s words it’s #TooMuchFun.
For example, we got to meet the girl who has taken Kara’s place as Grant’s personal assistant… Miss Teschmacher – who not only shares a name with Lex Luthor’s girlfriend/sidekick from the ’78 movie, but whom Grant is prone to shouting for in the bizarre diction (“Tesch-MACH-eeeeeerrrrrr!”) as Gene Hackman did in the movie.
-Did you know that there are three actors with Greek roots, that had a somehow influential role in the STAR TREK franchise?
The first eponymous Klingon to be shown in STAR TREK, was Commander Kor in TOS Season 1 episode 26 "Errand Of Mercy" and his name was John Colicos (December 10, 1928-March 6, 2000). He was born in Toronto, Ontario, to a Greek father and a Canadian mother. Some more known roles/films: "The Postman Always Rings Twice", "Battlestar Galactica" franchise as Count Baltar.
Next is an actress, one of Summer’s favorites . She is Marina Sirtis (born 29 March 1955), with the main cast role of Counselor Deanna Troi in STAR TREK TNG series and the four feature films that followed. Marina Sirtis was born in the East End of London, the daughter of working-class Greek parents Despina, a tailor's assistant, and John Sirtis.
Last, again in STAR TREK TNG, was Andrew "Andreas" Katsulas (May 18, 1946 - February 13, 2006), with the role of the influential Romulan Commander "Tomalak". He was an American actor known also for his roles as Ambassador G'Kar in the science fiction television series Babylon 5 and as the one-armed villain Sykes in the film The Fugitive (1993). He also played Vissian Captain Drennik in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Cogenitor." Born in St. Louis, Missouri to a working-class Greek American family. It is my personal hypothesis, that his character name "Tomalak", could have been used as a paraphrase to the Greek insult "to malaka", trying in a humorous way to describe the bad qualities of the character .
-Other Greek rooted non STAR TREK actors that come to my mind are: Jennifer Joanna Aniston (born February 11, 1969) is an American actress, producer, and businesswoman. The daughter of Greek actor John Aniston and American actress Nancy Dow, Aniston gained worldwide recognition for portraying Rachel Green on the popular television sitcom Friends (1994-2004), a role which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. The character was widely popular during the airing of the series and was later recognized as one of the 100 greatest female characters in United States television.
And Telly Savalas was born as Aristotelis Savalas on January 21, 1922, in Garden City, New York, to Greek-American parents Christina (nee Kapsalis), a New York City artist who was a native of Sparta, and Nick Savalas [Tsavalas], a Greek restaurant owner. Known among other for portraying supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)" and for the television crime drama Kojak (1973-1978).
Firefly Easter egg in the Deadpool 2 teaser shown in theaters before FOX's movie Logan!
Although Deadpool 2 doesn’t start shooting until June, we’ve already got a teaser; in the US, before screenings of Logan, fans are being treated to a short, three-minute tease for the film. Behind Deadpool, you can see multiple Firefly posters hanging up in the back.
James Cameron tends to reuse actors. For example, I never realized that private Vasquez in Aliens (1986) and John Connor's foster mother Janelle in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) were played by the same person, Jenette Goldstein. She also played an Irish mom on Titanic (1997)
Similarly, Michael Biehn co-starred with Jennette in 'Aliens' as cool-headed corporal "Hicks". He also played "Kyle Reese" - the biological father of John Connor" -, in the original Terminator movie. Bill Paxton shared the screen with Jenette in 'Aliens' as trigger-happy meathead "Hudson" ("Game over man!"), and in Titanic as the modern day exploration crew leader. He also appeared in Terminator (1984) as one of the punks. I could also mention Lance Henriksen. You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Youtube
