The announce of Summer Glau's appearance on CW's hit superhero drama Arrow as a recurring character from the DC comics universe has made quite a buzz online.

Summer Glau joins Arrow

Summer Glau has gained major geek cred by playing two of the most iconic characters in recent sci-fi history (River Tam in Firefly and Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), not to mention other notable credits including Dollhouse, The Cape, Alphas, The 4400, Grey's Anatomy, Chuck, The Big Bang Theory and most recently Hawaii Five-0. However, Summer Glau is not the first genre favorite who joined the cast of Arrow, whether as a main character or just for a guest appearance.

Here are a few familiar geektastic faces seen in the first season of Arrow:

Malcolm Merlyn, aka The Dark Archer, was played by John Barrowman, best known for his portrayal of Captain Jack Harkness on "Torchwood" and "Doctor Who."

Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, was played by Manu Bennett, best known for his portrayal of Crixus on "Spartacus: Blood and Sand".

The Count was played by Seth Gabel, best known for his portrayal of Lincoln Lee on "Fringe".

Nick Salvati was played by Tahmoh Penikett, best known for his portrayal of Captain Karl 'Helo' Agathon on "Battlestar Galactica".

The Dodger was played by James Callis, best known for his portrayal of Dr. Gaius Baltar on "Battlestar Galactica".

And now Summer Glau will fill the recurring role of Isabel Rochev. Could this show get any better? Don't forget to watch the premiere of Arrow on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 8/7c on The CW.
