One of the most awaited things to come out of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was undoubtedly the Firefly 10th Anniversary Reunion panel, that featured the likes of Joss Whedon, Jose Molina, Tim Minnear and cast members Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher and Summer Glau, held on Friday, July 13, hosted by The Science Channel.
Oh boy did it met the expectations of the millions of fans, those who were lucky to participate as well as those who followed the event online. We already knew the short-lived, beloved tv show has its fans but who would have thought the panel for a 10-year-old TV show would be the shindig that would have TV fans and industry insiders buzzing the most this year? It reminds me of the stellar success of The Avengers.
The late announce of the upcoming Firefly panel was already a suprise by itself but this year Comic-Con was full of surprises and Firefly/Summer Glau fans were granted with many events, outside and inside the San Diego Convention Center. So many that at times it was hard to follow them as they showed up; since the convention is over, i think it would be a good idea to highlight for you the great moments of the San Diego Comic-Con 2012.
Joss Whedon visiting fans waiting in line for the Firefly Reunion It started outside of the Ballroom 20; lots of Browncoats started lining up in the wee hours in the morning and were curled up in their sleeping bags. When all of a sudden, they received a visit from Joss Whedon himself (Jose Molina and Adam Baldwin also said "Hi" to the fans).
Seeing Joss Whedon walking over sleeping bags, signing autographs and taking photos with the fans at 3AM must have been unforgettable.

Well, that's it for the sump up!
Even if there was no breaking news at the convention, besides more comics being made with Dark Horse, it was a huge success.
The fact that the guy who just had one of the biggest Hollywood movies ever, was feted at Comic-Con not so much for The Avengers, but for a TV series dumped by its network a decade ago, speaks volume to the success of this Firefly Reunion.
So, congratulations on being one of the most powerful forces in the ‘verse for ten years, “Firefly.” Thanks for being shiny.
I'm very proud that Summer Glau is part of this universe. She was blessed with playing two of the most iconic character in recent sci-fi history, where intelligent writers like Joss Whedon and Josh Friedman recognized Summer's incredible talent. I wish the next decade will bring us even more reasons to admire Summer Glau's work.
