Live Action Peter Panzerfaust Series Coming

POSTED BY chrisdvanne ON Jul 02, 2013 / 6 COMMENTS

Summer Glau as Wendy in Peter Panzerfaust motion comic
Summer Glau voices Wendy in Peter Panzerfaust motion comic.

Peter Panzerfaust creator Kurtis Wiebe dropped a Peter Panzerfaust bomb today at Image Expo – a one-day event for press and fans meant to maximize the publishing news coming out of the creator-owned powerhouse.

Kurtis Wiebe announced that the previously-in-development live action series for the comic book is coming, for real!

Peter Panzerfaust, written by Wiebe and drawn by Tyler Jenkins, will be developped as a live-action by The BBC Worldwide, who alreaddy produced the motion comic featuring the voices of Elijah Wood as Peter Panzerfaust, Ron Perlman as Kapitan Haken and Summer Glau as Wendy.

We do not know if the voice actors will reprise their role in the new BBC TV show.

While waiting for the release of the Peter Panzerfaust motion comic, here's the trailer unveiled a few weeks ago:

I feel that I could get into this fairly easily, whether or not Summer Glau is in it (to me, that's a plus). I'm a fan of history and WWII is one of my favorite historical events to read about.

That trailer is fantastic. Can't wait for the motion comic to be released. smile

Also, I'm excited to think we might see a live-action version, provided Summer Glau reprises her role.

I've seen two movies recently, inwhich some kind of motion comic was used for the opening credits (which is not unsual btw). Watching a motion comic as a stand-alone media is a weird experience for me and for many others as it seems.
Though in this case it will also serve as an appetizer for the upcoming live action series.
I doubt the voice actors will reprise their roles in the live action series, but who knows.

well lets hope at least summer does.

I'm sure you've noticed the simultaneity of the two announces: Summer is not going to Montreal Comiccon while at the same time a live action series for Peter Panzerfaust is in the making.

From my understanding, it's just a coincidence though tongue

yeah it's probably just coincidence, but still it might be that that is the reason
