Summer Glau and David lyons were partners in the short-lived NBC's tv series The Cape, but they will become competitors in Fall 2013, since the show they play in, respectively NBC's Revolution and The CW's Arrow, are scheduled for the same time slot, Wednesdays at 8 pm.
In The Cape, that originally aired on NBC from January to March of 2011, David Lyons plays Vince Faraday, an honest cop who is framed for the police chief's murder and then decides to fight Palm City's corruption and clear his name by adopting the visage of his son's favorite comic book hero, The Cape.
Summer Glau plays Jamie Fleming / Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on the crime and corruption in Palm City. She becomes Vince's ally and helps him even though she is trying to keep her life and her reasons a secret and she is a skilled fighter. It is revealed that Orwell's first name is "Jamie" and that she may harbour secret feelings for Vince.
For its second season, freshman drama Revolution will lose its cushy post-Voice time slot (Mondays at 10 pm) and will take over the Wednesday 8 pm slot, starting on September 25.
In NBC's post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, David Lyons plays General Sebastian "Bass" Monroe, a former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant who co-founded the Monroe Republic and Miles Matheson best friend prior to the blackout.
For its second season, freshman superhero drama Arrow returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 9th, at 8:00-9:00 PM ET.
In The CW top-rated show, newcomer Summer Glau will fill the recurring role of DC Comics villain Isabel Rochev, the beautiful and dangerous Vice President of Aquisitions for Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. We do not know much About Summer's character but she's expected to appear first in the season two premiere titled 'City of Heroes' and may be a new love interest for Oliver Queen.
If you plan to watch both shows, may I suggest you watch Arrow LIVE and record Revolution; Arrow's advertisers, who fund the show, shall all be very grateful for that.
If you haven't yet, there's plenty of time to catch up with the first season of Arrow; meanwhile, here's the season 1 & 2 sizzle reel shown at this year Comic-Con, including glimpses of Summer Glau's character and a proto-Black Canary:
