It looks like "Arrow" villain Slade Wilson/Deathstroke is finally ready to make his move in episode 2.18, "Deathstroke." This episode will focus on the ongoing battle between Oliver and Slade. Obviously. But since The CW released a video preview for "Deathstroke", fans were wondering who was the woman fighting with Oliver in Queen Consolidated board room.
Find below a couple screencaps of the scene:
It wasn't long before fans made the connection with Summer Glau's character Isabel Rochev, who we know is coming back from the description of the episode and who is wearing the same clothes as the mysterious woman in the promos photos released previously. It's safe to assume that's Isabel Oliver is getting rough with. Of course it's not Summer herself performing a spin kick on Oliver but a stunt double. And between you and me, I'm not unhappy it's not Summer that Oliver is slamming down on that table (in an angry way)... Without further ado, it is with great pleasure that I present to you Summer Glau's stunt double, a young stunt performer from Vancouver named Melissa Jin.
Here's a bit more on Melissa Jin:
Melissa Jin is a 5' 5'' Canadian stunt performer. She is a martial artist, with more than twelve years of experience in Seikido martial arts. She has studied many other styles over the years, including Muay Thai kickboxing, Judo, various weapons (Bo staff, long staff, short staff, bokken, kendo, sword), and softstyle techniques including tumbling and acrobatic flips.
Currently, she is training in gymnastics, crossfit, and martial arts. Her fighting techniques complemented with her acrobatic skills make her a dynamic, confident performer.

UPDATE: It looks like Summer Glau is playing DC Comics character the Ravager in Arrow. No doubt Melissa's talent as a martial artist will be put to good use. Can't wait to see the Ravager fight scenes.
Next week’s “Deathstroke” will see Slade Wilson/Deathstroke takes aim at the Queen family, while Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau) returns to cause even further trouble! "Thea learns something pretty massive in Episode 18, and it will cause a tectonic shift in her relationship with Oliver," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. More, we should expect a bit of a cliffhanger from "Deathstroke."
So don't miss this exciting new episode of Arrow when it airs Wednesday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
As an aside, does Oliver and Isabel fighting mean that her efforts to "take Queen Consolidated away from Oliver" are somehow linked to Slade. Take on our poll: Is Isabel Rochev working with Slade Wilson?
The CW have released the official promotional images for Arrow 2.18 'Deathstroke', airing on April 2nd. If a title like “Deathstroke” isn’t enough for you, Summer Glau is back as Isabel Rochev and she's ready to cause Oliver a world of trouble!
Official description for Arrow 2.18 'Deathstroke':
OLIVER’S WORLD STARTS TO CRUMBLE — Slade (Manu Bennett) makes his move against Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the repercussions are enormous. While Oliver scrambles to protect his family, a key player in his team starts to question Oliver’s decisions. Meanwhile, Isabel (guest star Summer Glau) makes her move to take Queen Consolidated away from Oliver. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Drew Z. Greenberg (#218).

Arrow 2.18 'Deathstroke' airs on The CW on Wednesday, April 02 at 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET.
Things might change for Summer Glau's character Isabel Rochev in future episodes of Arrow. She started as Oliver's business rival in episodes 1 and 4, but we can expect the ice to thaw between the two business associates as time goes on. And if you're not convinced, the image from next week episode "Keep Your Enemies Closer" showing Isabel in a nightgown with Oliver standing next to her bed should.
Take on our poll: Will Isabel and Oliver have an affair?
But there might be more coming for Isabel: in Arrow episode 2.05 "League of Assassins", baddie of the week Al-Owal did drop a huge hint that "the child of Ra's al Ghul" is looking for Sara Lance. It was interesting that they decided to use the line “the child of Ra’s al Ghul” which could mean that we might see Talia al Ghul before her dad shows up. Arrow sure does know how to entertain its comic book fans.
UPDATE: Spartacus alum Katrina Law has been tapped to play Ra's al Ghul's other progeny, Nyssa al Ghul.
All viewers of "The Dark Knight Rises" and the DC comics know that Ra's child is Talia al Ghul. Arrow writers are accustomed to dropping names, only to see them on the show some time later. Which leads us to ask: Could Isabel Rochev turn out to be Ra's al Ghul's daughter, Talia? This is definitively something to watch out for in Arrow.
We've already seen that twist in Christopher Nolan's directed "Dark Knight Rises" (2012); Marion Cotillard's character Miranda Tate was masquerading as a business woman (she took over Wayne Enterprises) and later revealed herself to be Talia al Ghul.
Anyone can see the similarity to Summer Glau's character Isabel Rochev, looking to take over Queen Industries.
Remember how Miranda hookep up with Bruce Wayne in "Dark Knight Rises". So if Oliver turn out to have an affair with Summer Glau' Isabel, we will take this as a further sign.
Oh wait, there's the photo above.
We do not know to what extend Arrow's writer will stick to the comic book characters but if you take a look at the comic book versions of Isabel Rochev and Talia al Ghul, you'll notice that Summer Glau looks more like Talia than like Isabel.
As an Arrow fan, Jacqueline, told me with humour, she is expecting "Malcolm Merlyn to come walking shirtless out of Isabel's bathroom."
There's other possibilities here, though, as in the comics Ra's has two other childs, a second daughter named Nyssa, who was born in 19th century Russia and a third child named Dusan, an albino who was supposed to succeed his father in ruling the League of Assassins.
And don't forget the mysteries attached to Summer Glau's character itself: the name Isabel Rochev is on Robert's Queen list of people who have failed this city. She is probably also the same woman we saw in Arrow 1×22 “Darkness At The Edge of Town”, from which Fyers - the English man leading the operations on the island - received its orders (see previous Blog post for all the images). More, Isabel’s surprising connection to the Queen family will be revealed in episode 8, teased executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.
We still don't know how Sara Lance got from the boat where she was help prisoner to the League of Assassin. So oviously that story will be told in later episodes, maybe when Talia al Ghul makes her appearance.
Now that we've reviewed all the hints left by Arrow writers we're eager to hear what you think about this interesting plot twist, so please take on the poll in the forum Is Isabel Rochev Talia al Ghul in disguise? and share your thoughts with us.
Wether Isabel Rochev is Talia al Ghul in disguise or not, it looks like Arrow's writers are slowly building a very interesting character for Summer Glau. She's up to no good, and that makes it fun and interesting to watch.
Tune in to The CW on Wednesdays at 8/7c for all-new episodes of Arrow!
The CW has just released a serie of promotional images from the episode 2x06 of Arrow titled 'Keep Your Enemies Closer', airing on November 13. The images includes lots of Diggle, but also some Olicity, Roy, Thea, Moira, and boat flashbacks with Sara, Oliver and Professor Ivo.
While Summer Glau's character Isabel Rochev appears in this episode, there's no trace of Summer in this first batch of images but hopefully The CW will release a second batch of photos as we get closer to the airing date.
And now the promo images.
Here's the official description for the episode (mentioning Summer Glau):
DIGGLE GOES AFTER DEADSHOT — Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) sends A.R.G.U.S. agents to kidnap Diggle (David Ramsey). Waller informs Diggle that Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) has gone missing after following a lead on Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe) in Moscow. When Diggle tells the team he’s headed to Russia to rescue Lyla, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) decide to join, but things get messy when Isabel (guest star Summer Glau) shows up on the tarmac and insists on joining Oliver’s “work trip.” Meanwhile, Moira’s (Susanna Thompson) lawyer, Jean (guest star Teryl Rothery), tells Thea (Willa Holland) that dating Roy (Colton Haynes), a known criminal, is hurting her mother’s case. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Beth Schwartz (A206).
May I remind you that DC's character Isabel Rochev is from Russia. However, we don't know yet if Arrow writers are going to use it in the show. Oliver's trip to Russia might be an opportunity to do so, don't you think?
