Even if TNT didn't pick up Scent of the Missing's pilot, there's still hope it will be released under one form or another; at least that's what actress Tricia Helfer and book author Susannah Charleson told us (the following blogpost might be slightly off-topic but Susannah is part of the family now).
While waiting for this day to happen, we have not forgotten that the lovely Susannah, who kindly granted us an exclusive interview on the filming of the pilot (see interview : Susannah Charleson talks about "Scent of the Missing" pilot), has a new book coming in store in June 2013.
This book is titled 'The Possibility Dogs', with the following subtitle 'What a Handful of "Unadoptables" Taught Me About Service, Hope, and Healing'.
For those like me who follow Jake Piper and Ollie T adventures on a daily basis, we know what lies behind the title and image cover; for the others, here's the book description :
A uniquely personal, moving, and inspiring journey into the rapidly emerging world of psychiatric service dogs, as Susannah Charleson works as an evaluator in shelters, plucking unwanted dogs, big and small, training them for this unique kind of service, and matching them with people in need.
'The Possibility Dogs' will be released on June 4, 2013, you can buy it at Amazon.
About Susannah Charleson :
Susannah Charleson is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Scent of the Missing, as well as a flight instructor, service dog trainer, and canine search-and-rescue team member, who most recently began a non-profit organization called The Possibility Dogs, which rescues, trains, and places dogs with people suffering "unseen" disabilities. She lives in Midland, Texas, with her search partner, Puzzle, a golden retriever certified for the recovery of missing persons, her service dog partner-in-training, Jake Piper, a German shepherd-pit bull-poodle mix, as well as a rabble of pomeranians, a chihuahua-cairn terrier mix, and two cats.
Susannah Charleson Talks 'The Possibility Dogs' at CBS New york on June 6, 2013.
I invite you to follow Susannah Charleson on Twitter at @S_Charleson; dog, cats and delicatessen lovers will be in for a treat :-)
We keep our fingers and paws crossed for Susannah Charleson's success with this new book.
Connecting homeless dogs with a gift for service to disabled partners with a heart for rescue. - Susannah Charleson, Executive Director
