Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau fooling around behind the scenes
Fans asked me many times for that specific scene in which Thomas is swinging Summer around, which is why i isolated it for them in a short clip
Summer Glau revisited her passion for ballet when she posed as a ballerina in a photo shoot by Matthew Hranek, published in the November 2008 issue of SELF magazine.
You can watch HQ scans of SELF four-page article, inwhich Summer Glau, Audrina Patridge (The Hills), Sarah Jane Morris (Brothers & Sisters) and Elisabeth Berkley (CSI: Miami) give their secrets for a relaxing weekend.
Here's a UHQ scan of Matthew Hranek's original shot (11" x 8.5" Glossy Photo), showing Summer Glau in a black leotard with pink leggings, which was subsequently used in the magazine.
Summer Glau, G4tv presenter Kevin Peirera, and Knights of Badassdom's director Joe Lynch talk about Hover Hand on stage at Comic-Con 2011.
The Hover Hand is what some people do when posing for a picture with a (often female) celebrity, usually taking place in photos at conventions.
Rather than actually go for the regular around the shoulder or around the waist side hug that most people do, they hover their hand instead of making contact. It happens when the person is too shy/respectful to touch a celebrity or think the celebrity might not appreciate it..or simply when the photographer had a bad timing.
The Hover Hand meme started about 4 or 5 years ago, and the topic would have several actors including Summer, it's just that Summer being so popular and having so many convention photos has made her pics a goldmine for the meme. The Hover Hand has become a phenomenom, to the point of becoming a recurring gag where people take obviously fake Hover Hand pictures, or ask celebrities to hover hand them, like in these photos :
As you can see in the video or in the pictures taken at conventions, Summer Glau is not afraid to touch her fans and she obviously has a great sense of humor.

A huge thanks to Fox012 for the pictures.
Philly Taco (username) took advantage of Summer Glau's presence on set of Hallmark Channel's 'Help for the Holidays' to demonstrate his talent of Hoverhand-er. But not only did he hoverhand Summer on purpose, he also asked her to simultaneously hoverhand him in order to create this free style photo op : the double hoverhand.
Philly Taco told us under what circumstances this funny photo was taken :
It was the last day of filming and thought she was leaving. I asked her for a picture and she said sure. When I immediately mentioned it had to be hoverhands she laughed and said, "Oh you know what that is?" in an 'oh geez' kinda way.

If you remember, this is not the first time Summer hoverhands a fan; Jesse playfully asked Summer Glau to hoverhand him at Calgary Expo on June 2011 :
I asked Summer to hoverhand me. I thought it'd be funny. My smile couldn't have been bigger, but the photo was just a little bit too late after we thought it was, which I think makes Summer's expression funnier.
Philly Taco, I'll see your double-hoverhand picture and raise you a triple-hoverhand picture: G4tv presenter Kevin Peirera, Knights of Badassdom's director Joe Lynch and Summer Glau herself mimicked the hoverhand on stage at Comic-Con 2011; you can watch the excerpt inwhich Summer talks hover hand in the Blog.
