The Story Behind the Hoodie Summer Was Wearing at LFCC

As I was gathering together images of Summer Glau from London Film and Comic 2014, I came across a few pictures of her wearing a black hoodie and was wondering where it came from. Although Summer is often wearing vests at conventions, it's usually woollen or crochet vests and it was the first time I saw her wearing a hoodie. That would have been the end of the story if a LFCC attendee had not contacted me and shared with me the story behind this black hoodie.

Kyle Reese, that's his real name no kidding, told me how he met Summer at her booth on Saturday and gave her the black hoodie he made for her. But that's not all - Kyle sent me several pictures of his meeting with Summer.
With a huge thank you to Kyle, let me tell you the story behind the hoodie Summer was sporting at LFCC and the pictures that go with it.

Kyle was like 5th in line as he met Summer Glau at her booth; here's a photo of him with the hoodie in bag, as he handed her a photo of Cameron to sign.

Kyle personalized the hoodie with patches; the red on the sleeve is a flash from when he was in the forces (not related to TSCC), a personal touch from Kyle to Summer (no need to say she was touched by the delicate attention) and a black Cyberdyne insignia on the front, as pictured below.

Summer said it was the first fan named Kyle Reese she had ever met at a convention. She loved the hoodie Kyle gave her and put it on straight away with a non hidden pleasure, as shown below (see the insignias on the sleeve and on front).

If you own a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles promo photo signed by Summer Glau, you know that she usually writes the famous tagline "Come with me if you want to live". I am familiar with this type of photos but this is the first time I saw the line Summer wrote in this particular case. It proves she has a clear idea about what line would fit best and, but it is speculative on my part, she misses the show just as much as we do. Without further delay, check out the photo signed by Summer Glau with the following mention, "For the Reese family see you in the future!".

Thank you again Kyle Reese for sharing with us this great story, and the lovely accompagnying photos. I'm convinced fans will love the way Summer accepted your gift. More, the line she wrote on your autographed photo of Cameron will remind all TSCC fans that we would have loved to see John, Allison and the Reese boys's adventures in a post-Judment Day season three.

Side note: at first I thought Kyle Reese was simply a Twitter username and that he was cosplaying Kyle Reese ( tattoos on the neck); Summer had the same initial reaction and Kyle had to show her his passport to prove he was saying the truth and she loved it.

That hoodie was intriguing, indeed. Kyle's story is awesome on so many levels.

That is so unbelievable I thought he was just cosplaying the fictional character and adopted a Twitter username accordingly.
I had to edit some paragraphs with the proper version. He was not playing one of the Reese's boy, he's really Kyle Reese, which makes this story even more incredible.

Did he have any choice with that name? wink

Thanks for sharing the story.

I wonder, given that she has to receive at least 2-3 gifts per an event such as this, do you need a special storage room to keep them in the end?
