The Cape - Io9 article : "I am now officially a Rollo/Orwell shipper"

Added by chrisdvanne on Jan 19, 2011 | 2 COMMENTS

Are The Cape Characters, including Orwell, just pulp archetypes ?

Read the article at Io9

On the opposite, Ew like the multi-sided characters.

Who cares about characters or plot, when there is Summer Glau in that skintight suit?

Sorry, had to say this tongue

Apparently, the journalist and the audience think that the characters are one-dimensional.

I strongly disagree with that :
Vince Faraday is a good guy by essence but can be under the influence of the "dark side" of the cape.
Orwell is a strong, independant blogger but a lonely little girl at the same time.
Peter Fleming can be a supervillain but we'll learn soon another aspect of him.

Maybe the writers didn't find the balance between the comic-book style and the drama in characters, so that the comic vibe overcome the serious tone.
