Meeting Summer at a fan convention is always an inspiring and memorable experience. I've collected for you a couple experiences and stories from people who had the chance to meet Summer at Long Beach Comic Con last weekend. You can read them below.
I saw Summer Glau and felt the need to sketch her. She posed. lol
I don't normally have any desire to take pictures with celebrities; but I had to make an exception. Summer Glau's character River Tam from Firefly and Serenity inspired me to name my little girl River. She's a strong butt-kicking little one.
Kat's first con pic [dressed up as River Tam]!!! With Summer Glau. She had both an axe and a sword, but they wouldn't let her take it in to the picture.
I got to meet, and take a picture with, the cast of the best show ever: Firefly and I was so excited that I cried!! Maybe next time I meet them, I won't be so nervous and I'll actually say something to them...This was my first try at a "cosplay" and I was so happy to get to meet these great actors!!!
Got to meet the cast of Firefly!! If you can tell we were excited!! Here is Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher!!!
So I was very excited because today I got to meet Summer Glau!!! I had worked on The Sarah Connor Chronicles as a VFX artist. I told her and she was was so appreciative. She kept on telling me thank you so much over and over again. She is one of the nicest celebs I've met! And she told her handler...did you hear her?!??! She worked on the Sarah Connor Chronicles!! Like you could tell she was a huge sweetheart! Love her!! I had her sign my season 1 disc set!
What a treat to meet Summer Glau. It was fun to get home and show my daughter my favorite Summer Glau fighting scenes in Serenity and that Summer went from a dancer to kicking major butt on screen and have my daughter say "Wow!".
"Hey girl". Forever my #1. Just looking at each other, I wanted something that was different.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! Safe to say LBCC day 2 is off to an awesome start. Summer Glau with my 2x2 fan art of River Tam is all I've ever dreamed of. She was really sweet and complimented my work. She even asked what medium I used. I almost ran into the divider ropes cuz I was still looking at her while walking away. And she's plenty tall to me!
You can see more photos of Summer posing with fans, signing autographs at her booth or at the Firefly panel in the Long Beach Comic Con 2016 gallery album.
I promise to revisit this topic again, and gather more stories about meeting Summer and how real and gracious she is with fans. I’m sure the stories will be similar, and thankfully so.
