Alphas Season 3 - Syfy still deliberating!

Added by chrisdvanne on Dec 21, 2012 | 7 COMMENTS

Alphas Season 3 - Ryan Cartwright not optimistic

Bad vibes about Alphas renewal for a season 3!

A first tweet from Ryan Cartwright, who plays Gary in Syfy's serie, noticed that we won't know if Alphas will get a third season until 2013, followed a few hours later by a much more pessimistic tweet, inwhich Cartwright assumes the serie is cancelled.

Alphas Season 3 - Ryan Cartwright not optimistic

Ryan Cartwright deleted his tweet a few hours later, after apparently being informed that the network are “still deliberating“.
UPDATE : while Syfy denied Alphas a season 3, check out an exclusive look at Alphas season 3 provided by Alphas executive producer Zak Penn!
Important : There has been no official announcement from Syfy yet.
On related news, Syfy's serie Haven has been renewed a few weeks ago. More, Syfy only co-produces or simply bought the rights of their sci-fi dramas (Haven, Lost Girl, Merlin, Continuum, and Primeval: New World) which doesn't bode well for Syfy-produced Alphas.
Cartwright tweets may force Syfy to make an announcement sooner than what they had planned, visit the site regularly for the latest news.

Considering that Syfy keeps postponing a decision on Alphas renewal/cancellation and that they announced the renewals and plans for 2013 almost a month ago and never mentioned Alphas, i consider the chance of getting a season 3 are thin.

I consider Ryan Cartwright to be an excellent actor because his persona in Alphas is not him. I saw an episode of CSI recently and he was in it. He played a very posh, well spoken intelligent employee. Not at all like his role in Alphas.
I'm sure work will come his way, regardless.

With any hope, Syfy will bring it back as a mid-season replacement or the following year. There is a fan base for the show, but the viewing numbers for Alphas just hasn't met with expectations. I'm surprised the numbers hasn't been better as I thought this season showed a definite improvement in writing style even when I took issue with details, and they made some improvements with the cast. Syfy at this point is probably waiting to see how production is going on some of their new shows before committing to doing a third season of Alphas. In the meantime we all wait in limbo.

@Kevin. Ryan Cartwright was in the series Bones playing a recurring character Vincent Nigel-Murray. Have you seen it?

As i mentioned in my news, it seems Cartwright's tweet forced Syfy to react and he has been informed that there's still deliberations.

Fingerscrossed for a season 3 gifts

excuse after excuse with syfy just havent got the guts to make a positive commitment, towards alphas renewal surely its a yes or no regarding the show, i must admit i think the show is heading in the right direction, each episode was gaining momentum with such great pace even more so with summer glau at the helm, deserves a chance to get even stronger with a season three, must be awfull for the cast not knowing where they stand, smile

Best of luck to Summer and the rest of the cast.

This is a pretty good show but SciFy has done next to zero to promote it. Why haven't they blanketed the cable networks with ads for it to let folks know it is out there? Maybe if they did a discounted sale of past seasons to other channels they could generate a lot more interest. Cripes, they are still showing Gunsmoke on some channels.
